What course did you took up in college? Is your work related to your course? My college course in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. I suppose to be working in Human Resource department or recruitment division. However for the last 4 years after I graduated, I landed on a job that is very different to my supposedly course. I didn't regret my work experiences though it is not related to my course. Kindly share you thoughts on this. Is your work now related to your course?

I'm not sure if forensic science is offered here in our country. Probably in those big universities but I'm not really sure. Your course sounds very interesting. I want a medical or science related course also however I don't know why I chose psychology instead.

I wanted to study forensic science before I went to university, but unfortunnately I found there didn't have the related courses in my university. So I study chemistry now, and I just started a discussion a few minutes ago, because I found it was difficult to get a job as my major.

My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Child Psychology. Although I have to get my masters degree, or maybe a phD, in order to be a psychologist, I use my degree everyday throughut the school year because I work in a pre-k classroom. Many things have changed in children's behaviors since I graduated, but the knowledge I gained with my degree has helped a lot. So yes, my main job is related to my college degree.

That is really nice if you are practicing your profession. I also have a similar degree however I'm working on a different field. How I wish that I can a preschool teacher. But the salary is really low that is why I need to work in a BPO to earn and support my family.

I graduated BSBA Major in Marketing Management. I've worked as a Customer Service Agent for Philippine Airlines for more than three years. My studies didn't really apply except if you count my Service Marketing subject.

When I first went to college, I got a degree in Electronics....years later...well...it has changed..lol. Sometimes life throws a few surprises out there and we end up being somewhere alot different than we thought we would be. I am now in management and go to an accelerated degree course for a BA in management with a minor in human resources. I am already in management where I work now...the Vice President of the comapany apparently saw something about me that I didn't and started preparing me very soon after I started there. He never told me his plans...I just kept getting moved from here to there and expected to take on more and more. Before I knew it..bam...management. Well...maybe not so quickly as bam..there has been a lot of ups and downs. So yes..now my work is related to my course but not my original one.

I have a double degree. First I took up Community Nutrition, but didn't take up the licensure exam for Nutritionist-Dietitian since I wasn't able to enjoy my course and did not excel in it. But I'm still planning to take it up in a few years after I refresh my mind on the course. After I graduated in my first course I took up Nursing immediately. Lucky me, my dad still finance my schooling. I just graduated last April and passed the licensure examination for nurses just this August. Now I'm planning to pursue my nursing career despite the rough and tough situation of nurses here in our country. I'm passionate with my chosen career so I'm determined to become successful sooner or later. Now I'm gonna do some training first and hopefully land me a job here or in other country.

I took up civil engineering but I'm currently working under a BPO company. I don't like working under this type of company to say the least because it can get too boring and repetitive. Although there is another course I'd like to take and that is character design and animation. That is a dream I'd like to make real because I have been a fan of animations since I was a kid and working under those types of companies won't feel like I'm working at all.

I previously worked in a BPO company. I already resigned since I really don't like my work. I love the salary and my friends but overall, I don't like my work. And I hate the drastic changes in schedule and the split off. I gave up, I better find another job that will make me happy. Life is too short to be lonely and unhappy.

Hi chiwasaki! Fortunately, my work is related to my course back in college. My first work was not entirely related to my course but one aspect of it was related so I was still fortunate back then to have that work. It was as a one-year project (but it extended for two months) and then after that, I was able to get in a government agency where I'm working now as a research assistant. It is entirely related to my course although most of my work involves writing. Still, the things I write about are related to my course. Anyway, sometimes I consider applying for a different work but just thinking about it makes me feel uneasy and inferior. Because I have been used to working in my field so I think I won't be able to do any good in other kinds of work.

When I was 16 to 18 years old I went to a further education college. I did a course in Business and Finance (Shipping and Transport). I worked as a children's nanny in Finland before I got a job in London. I worked as a container marketing controller for a ship brokers. I got made redundant from that and went off on a journey around the world. When I came home I improved my qualifications. Then I went to study at university Education and English Literature. Then I became a primary school teacher which is my career now. In a recession many people change their career. Here we are in another recession.

I think it is quite common to have a job that is different from what you've learned in school. I'm supposed to work with industrial robots but, being an engineer permitted me to have a job into the IT department of a public institution. So you're not alone, if this makes you happy.

I took up a degree in Chemical Engineering back in my college days. So far with my previous company, I get to practice my field of study. I just started out with my new company and it seems that I have landed another job which is entirely related to my course. I do feel it is much more related to my field now. There really is a feeling of fulfillment whenever I get to work and use my acquired knowledge in my university. It makes me think that all those examinations and hard work in understanding my degree really paid of since I can apply it in my line of work. I got friends who has an entirely different work compared to their courses and sometimes they feel unfulfilled that they haven't been using the knowledge they acquired in the university. But of course, some do enjoy their new line of work better than those work that require their courses. It is just a matter of identifying yourself. Maybe those that shift careers are the late bloomers who just identified what they want recently. But I do really feel good that I am in my line of work and that has always been my career goal in life. To be able to practice the profession I have achieved from the university and apply my knowledge of it.

If you're working in a job where you notice that nothing is related to the courses you had in your college is not bad - I think. The course you studied in the college are well. You job can give you a wide horizon and the oportunity to learn more and if it is possible, it could be good, if you take a new course related with the stuff of your job.

I took up bachelor of science in business administration major in management. That courses suited most of the jobs today. If you notice, most of the job accepts bsba graduate students. It covers all the aspect. It does not only focus on managing or putting up a business but it also deals with right management of oneself.
