What do the numbers above the names mean? i know that the ones next to it mean how many times you have replied to something but i see stars with numbers in them as well! Still trying to find my way around the site so any feedback would be great!!!

The number in your star is your reputation. When you reach 100 posts you will get your star. We mylotters rate each other and that is what gives us our reputation.

yea i noticed when you post something someone has the option of naming that the best answer, i'm assuming that is part of the reputation?

No, the BR has nothing to do with the reputation that I know of.. it's just a way of giving thanks to someone for giving you a response that you liked or needed.

You can read all about what the numbers mean here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx In fact, the User Rating is not a strict 'post count', though it does increase: 1) When you have started a discussion which has at least two responses OR a response and a comment 2) For the first response and the first comment which you make to someone else's discussion. It's important to realise that, although it doesn't increase for every post you make, the earnings algorithm does take everything you write into account. The 'star' rating (which you will see when you reach a User Rating of 100) is a measure of how other users have rated the quality of your contributions. Concentrate on making good quality, descriptive responses, comments and discussions and you will stand a much better chance of achieving a high value star (and of earning well, too).

You have already got the right idea, SnowTigger! Forget about 'earnings' for a bit and just enjoy yourself discussing, using the Search facility and, maybe, illustrating some discussions with photos. You will be very surprised how quickly the little bonuses add up!

Thank you! This site can be very confusing when you don't know your way around lol I'm sure it will take a while to learn but will get there eventually hehe I have found that this site isn't so much about the fact that i can make money, but i feel i can also make a difference for someone who has a genuine concern about health or other issues! I haven't been here long but really enjoy posting and making new friends!
