At the office: How many times do you wash your coffee mug?

I have my own coffee mug at the office. I think most of us who work in an office have their own. I only wash my mug at the end of the day. For the whole day I'm using it, I will only wash it in the afternoon before going home. When I arrive at the office in the morning, I drink coffee or milk. And then I just rinse it when I want to drink water. That's also the mug I use in drinking water or soda during lunch time. And when I want to drink coffee or milk again, I just rinse it again and use it. And then I just wash it with water and soap before I'm finally done with it. How about you guys?

I seldom drink coffee at the office. But if i do, i have a separate coffee mug at the office, which i would put in the wash basin for the utility boy to wash and be ready for use again after he washes them. We all have our own mugs at the coffee, but i only use mine for coffee. For drinking , i have a separate glass, which would only be washed by the utility boy after lunch and in the early morning, when he comes to clean the office. I just have my glass covered with a coaster when not in use.

There's a utility boy that washes all the employees' mugs/glasses? Wow, you must be working in a big company. We don't have that kind of luxury since we're a government office and we wash our own dishes. Only the big boss has the luxury to sit prettily and let the janitor/utility to wash his/her dishes.

Yes, i am in a big, private company so we need to really have a utility man who cleans the whole office, run errands and wash those dishes we used during lunch and snack. I guess, in government offices here, they wash their own dishes too.

It must be so convenient to have someone to wash your dishes. When I was working under our big boss, the janitor/utility would wash our dishes, too along with the boss's so I had more time to relax and for work!

I only drink water in the office so basically that's what my mug is for. The disgusting part about that is sometimes, I forget to wash my mug. I end up using it again the next day unwashed and when I notice it, that's the time I would feel grossed out but I guess its okay, I'm the only one using it anyway.

Where do you put your mug anyway? I always know when my mug is washed or unwashed. If it's in the dish cabinet, it's washed. If it's not, then it's probably isn't.

Some of my co-workers put their mug, too on their table drawers and when they are about to use it, they also wash it first. They are afraid of cockroaches that might enter their table drawers.

The only place where I store it is in my office locker which is very clean so I guess the Mug is also clean even without washing it. I'm still worried about germs though, Lol

I'm supposed to wash my mug or tumbler before going home but sometimes I tend to forget. So I have to wash it before I start my shift. What I always remind myself though is to wash it before my weekly off...which I also almost always forget. My mug will always need a thorough cleaning come Thursday morning. The worse one I had to clean off my tumbler (which I ended up throwing away) was when I had oatmeal in it and I left it at my station for 5 days...good thing it was one of those cheap ones that the company gave to us...

Actually, I drink more milk than coffee. I love the smell of coffee, too! Especially when the weather is cold.

I am very lazy. And especially most of the time I just drink plain water, so I seldom wash my cup. I will wash it whenever I drink a cup of coffee or something like that rather than water. I love China

I don't...I use a disposable cup so just pitch it in the garbage when I am finished. I find that if I bring a cup sometimes it disappears..or gets used when I am not around...

Someone steals it??? That's very annoying! You should put your name on it! I hate it when that happens to me.

I'm washing it everytime i'm using it, even if it's just for water.. haha :D I dun usually use my own mug for coffees and tea, because i'm already drinking them when i bought my breakfast or lunch, so i need not use my own mug at all. However i have a water bottle though, to carry around in my house, if i'm lazy to pour myself a cup of water every 30 mins.. haha

My Coffe Mug - Do you wash it after every use?
I don't drink coffee but I have a mug in the office which I use when I eat anything hot. I also do have a drinking glass for drinking water and any cold stuff. But before using them I always rinse them with hot water first. How often do I wash them with soap and water? Well, I wash them as many times as I use them. After every using I go to the sink and wash my mug or my glass with soap and water.

That's a good habit. Well, if I use my mug too for food other than coffee, then I'm inclined to wash it with soap and water, too before using it again.

I also a my own mug which I keep in the office. I wash it at the end of the day with soap and water. In the middle of the day when i feel like craving for coffee I just rinse my mug.

Yes, I have also my own coffee mug at the office.I never use the office's coffee mug because it not washed properly. They just dipped into the water and taken it out without proper wash. But you should clean your coffee mug everyday with soap.Health is precious for doing work in office.

I do wash my mug everyday with soap and water but only once after using it the whole day. It's always by my side practically the whole day so I'm pretty sure no one used it and no insect crawled in it.

I wash mine every time, I use it. Its just common habit. Rinse be for, an wash after. You never know who might of use it. Or what has crawled on it. I found out there a lot of weird people in the world. Freaks that get turned on. By the weirdest thing's. They might think by drinking out your cup. Can make you a part of them. Very real, and very crazy. So I would think its a smart thinking, to wash befor you use. Its just common respect, to wash when used.

That's really creepy. But I'm pretty sure that no one other than me is using my mug, there's a lot of other cups and mugs in the kitchen and there are only a few people who use the kitchen here in my boss's office. But I agree, it's just wise to wash before and after use.

That is a no brainer for me because I never wash my mug, because I don't drink out of a mug. I don't drink coffee ever and the water that goes around with me is in a water bottle which I put in the freezer the night before and then drink off as the ice thaws. I rinse it out whenever I refill it.

Hi secretbear! When I was previously working at night about 3 months ago, I need to drink coffee to stay awake. I wash it once a day, usually at the beginning of the shift. We have free coffee in the office and I always take 2 or 3 mugs a day. But I had Gastritis so I was advised by my doctor to stop drinking coffee for awhile.

Three mugs a day and you already had gastritis? Maybe there was other reasons? I know a general physician who drinks at most 5 cups of coffee a day and he never mentioned he had gastritis.
