Don't assume!

Sometimes when people are too doubtful, take precaution too much, they end up making assumptions that are wrong!
A funny story which was told to me and i'm sure some of you have heard already is that a lady was walking in the dark and she sensed a man following him, she walked faster thinking a criminal was following her and she was too scared she might get raped. In the end the man caught up with her just to tell her she dropped her wallet. Given the circumstances and the danger, you would think the same way like the girl.
The internet world is full of fraud, people can trick you and take advantage of you. So i won't blame anybody who don't easily trust people. And i don't blame one member doubting my profile pic as the real me. 
And even came to the point of saying that i'm a man!

people don't think my profile picture is me either.. i don't know whether to be flattered that they think its really hot and i've obviously stolen it off the internet somewhere.. or insulted that they think i'm hideous!! haha.. anyway.. me and my mirror have a special kind of relationship so it's all good :) haha!

I for myself don't doubt that you are what you are in the picture, because i have already seen your other real picture and your face is still there.
But since i have been responding to your discussions and you in mine, i am already complacent that you are what i think you to be, a courageous and strong woman when you had your tattoo and told me of the risky activities you do.

It's ok D! I'm having fun anyway! I don't have to prove to anybody else the real me.
It doesn't matter to me whether somebody believes my profile pic is me or not. I never question anybody about their profile pic because personally i find it rude to tell another person that it's hot her or him in that pic, unless it's obviously not his but a famous movie star.

really, someone told you that you are a man?
i think it's not with the avatar that we judge who we are interacting with but with his/her writing, we can see who is who and what he/she really is.

That person was new and made some rush judgment.
I just think it's rude to say that the person isn't what she is. If you don't believe it's her, i think it's better to keep mum about it.

Yes,i too am to careful on the net.But I'd like to err on the side of caution.There have been scamsters and decent people on the net.I think we ought to deal with a degree of caution.The bonafides of a legitimate person can soon be found out.People do doubt us on the net regarding our identity.But if we maintain consistency the people who are genuine shall understand us.

I think that person who doubted my identity, haven't seen any of my discussions at all and haven't seen all the pictures i posted here. And that person missed the numbers of posts i have which he can actually see right next to my name. And i think it is very rude to say that a person is not posting her real picture unless the picture that person posted was a movie star's picture.
I remember with my previous picture before, somebody said like this: your picture is very pretty friend but i think it's not real! I asked for clarification which never came at all! I didn't know if what she really meant by that. Probably i edited it, photoshopped it or whatever. But i don't really care much about what others think. I know myself and my close friends here know me well.
And with regards to my profile pic, i would never cheat anybody about that.

Yeah, you're right. We can't know who is on the other side of the line. But I think this community is based on trust. Further, members living in the same country, and near to each other, are able to meet together and probably there are some of them that have done it. I hope we experiment only the good things on the net.

I have read that one member here quit because there was one person from mylot who really stalked her because of money. She learned her lesson and i hope nobody would experience it again here. Mylot is a great community to meet new friends. And so far i haven't met someone who is a fraud and hopefully i won't meet someone like that in the future.

While take too much precaution is bad, I think no precaution at all is worse. We have to be more careful, especially on the online world, a place where people can make a lot of fraudulent activity anonymously. Just keep it in balance, I think.. :D

I try not to make any assumptions but I think that is just one error in the human mind. No matter how hard we are going to try to not to make any assumptions whatsoever, there are going to be many times where we are going to make those assumptions. And those assumptions are rather going to be hilariously wrong to horrifying wrong more often than not.
I think that all we think we know about everything is so far off a lot of the time. Granted, we're all going to have theories. And granted, sometimes just because you're paranoid, does not mean they're not out to get you. However, there are a lot people who tend to take things in a direction that I think is completely wrong. Granted it is sometimes rather amusing how wrong people can get and also horrifying but what are you going to do?
