How do you recognize a member by his avatar or his name?

I find that I am a visual type of person and can remember and recognize a member instantly and or quicker by their avatar. There are so many similar names that at times I confuse the ID name much more then I would their avatar. After some time I come to remember the user name specifically because of the avatar they use.

For me I remember some members by the avatar and some of them by their name. It depends on the name and avatar. You can like a name much more than other names, at the smae time you can love a avatar more than the others. So you will remember the both of them.

Hi again! I recognize myLotters by both. There are those who I recognize by their avatars and there are those who I recognize by their usernames and there are those who I recognize by both. There are those who use complicated usernames that are difficult to remember but they use avatars that are easily remembered. And vice versa for the other case. There are those who uses avatars that you really can't make out the images or a picture of too many people or something that you can't easily remember but there are somethings in their usernames that stick to you. And for those who use avatars and usernames that are both hard/easy to remember, I recognize them by both.

There are famous guys and girls here on mylot and some have names that you can easily recall even if they change their avatars. For the most parts, the names are so common or almost the same sounding as others that it's easier to recognize them by their avatars. When they changed their avatars, you won't realize it them at all.

I can easily recognize a lotter by his/her avatar too. If you'd change your avatar, my instinct would tell me to look at your name then. It shouldn't be much of a trouble though. :) I haven't changed my avatar since I became a member here hihihi.. So i guess it makes me more memorable??! Nyahaha! Cheers to yah!

I recognize by avatar if avatar is changed it is difficult for me to identify the person but some friends those regular post the respons on my discussion I remember the name so not difficult even they are changed their avatar I can identify them..

I think I mostly recognize people by their avatars, because I think they are just easier to remember. It's not that I pay that much attention to people's names or avatars though, but there are some people that respond to the same types of discussions as me and that's why I recognize them, mainly by their avatars.

Avatars do help identify a user instantly but with the facility we have to change the avatar I make us of it and change my avatar frequently. I choose topics that interest me and not who has posted them and therefore identifying users I consider, as less important.

My method is always through the name as Avatars are something some members like to change often. But in general I just look out for topics I can relate to and comment on those even if I don't know who the opening poster is etc. Welcome to MyLot, hope you enjoy your stay.

Some people in a similar discussion to this one is very similar to you. They just look at the avatar. I change my avatar every month and close friends still recognize me. For me it's not the avatar, but the discussion and the name attached to it. Now, i can easily associate the discussion to the person. I pay attention to the name and the discussion more than the avatar. A lot of my friends have changed theirs but i still recognize them. I think it only means i would rather have a close relationship to the real person behind the avatar.

Hi Surely an avatar is a important.. Many people just can't recognized you instantly if you changed your avatar.. But surly your friends will recognized you sooner or later. Mostly I recognize users from their username. But yes avatar helps me to recognized them instantly. About me I used to change my avatar very frequently but still my friends here always recognize me.

everyone change their avatar. some because they have a nice photo or because we were fed up with this. I personally look for some here when you search by name rather than avatars. I know if it is not easy but if you only name and find it. nice day!
