can you continue a dream?

yesterday, while i was sleeping and dreaming about a friend who has stolen my money and who i was boxing so hard because of my anger, my boyfriend called me up and asked me about something. after i put down the phone, i hoped that i can continue the dream because i also did not like that friend i was dreaming of and i wished i can repay him for all the bad things that he has done to me. but then i was not able to continue the drea,. did you ever felt this way? were you able to continue a dream when it was interrupted?

It happened for me, but not after long gap like after attending a phone call, I will just wake up and sleep immediately, but the dream would get interupted, but continue once I started to sleep, even then I am not sure if really woke up or it was also part of the dream..

thank you for your comment poniface. At least i know that if ever we are interrupted but just go back to sleep after, there is a possibility of continuing a dream. but what if we sleep again after some hours of being awake? even then, maybe if we put our mind into it, we can dream on something again.

It happened to me a few times but I wasn't able to continue it.
The thing is that if I think a lot about one thing before I fall asleep I dream about it. But I wasn't able to continue my dream on.

maybe the dream's continuation is in another dream. or is it just my weird imagination. 
. yes, most of the time if we are focused on one thing we dream it afterwards. that happened to me too!

There have been a few times where my dream was interrupted and when I fell back to sleep it continued on where it left off at. I don't know how though you could make it continue on. I have been able to remember my dreams though and sometimes, when it doesn't continue or when I wake up I'm like I wish I could know the outcome lol. But it never happens out like that.

yes, i do remember my dreams but not right away when i wake up. it takes a few hours before i remember it. sometimes a thing will trigger me to remember my dreams the night before.
