What will you do if you will be assigned to a newly created job position where you dont have any training or experience. I was transferred to another type of work which was not in the organizational structure. I questioned the one who gave the designation to me and she told me that she needed me to head another service which I can handle pretty well. I argued with her telling her that the position being created is not in the official plantilla. I should know better. But I was told she is working on it. Although I found it quite exciting and Ill be seeing lot of people, meeting with different kind of people, discussing with them about our agency still I am not happy with what I am doing. If you are in my shoe what will you do.

I like challenges and doing new things, and so probably I'll see that as a challenge.

In my opinion you have to work for some days and try to mingle with each other and get interact about them. If you found this work or assignment is make you happy, I think you should report to the officials. If I am in your case and feel discomfort and I will resign from there. It is because main reason it is not in the official plan and one should work in the good atmosphere otherwise it will adversely effect.

Thanks for the reply. So far I am coping up with the new work. What was reduced is the number of papers I have to sign and talked to employees as my work is with admin, right now I am talking to a lot of people not from the office but from the private and public sector and all types of people.

Hi bagumbayan! I would be worried, too if someone transferred me to a position that is not in the plantilla. It's like being transferred to a non-regular position. I would have been worried of my security at work. I am not sure if you trust that person but if she has the power to include that position in the plantilla, then I guess you can rest assured that you're secured? But I think you should give her a time frame or a deadline or something to when she will include that position in the plantilla. For now, maybe you can enjoy the perks of that new position since you do enjoy it anyway. Good luck!
