I don't know about you but for me it surely is Lord of the Rings. The books are like 60 or 80% better, but they made it preatty emotional and beautiful to watch, the actors weren't cocky and really tried to be the carachter, it was the best movie in my opinion, altho if you liked it, try to read the book. The more you understand this universe, the more you will love.

It is a too difficult question. The Lord of the Rings are good movies, but the third one, for example, had so many changes in relation to the book, that lost the charm for me. I think I prefer The Godfather. It is an old movie, in a time when we didn't have this super productions, but it is exciting and emotional and we can creat an empathy with the characters. About the books, that is an old problem with no solution. To adapt the book to the movies they do a lot of changes, sometimes creating a fully different story, like in the movie of Percy Jackson.

Hi there! Really? I'm reading the Fellowship and loving it. I'm sad they changed too much two books from now, because putting Arwen in Glorfindel's place was a huuuuuudge mistake, I really wanted to see him and the twins.

Hello. I think you will like it when you see the movies, because they are super production with very good actors, beautiful places and really great computer graphics. But I am not a standard because I like to complain, I confess. But it's not my fault if I like to read and all adaptations that they need to do changed all the story, is it?

I always wanted to get into that whole franchise but I only watched some of the first movie when I was very young and it was new. I still want to read the book and see the movie and I plan on it. I love the Harry Potter movies, I read the first 2 books when I was younger and I loved those as well. I think the film adaptions of those are great, one of the best from book to film. I heard Lord of the Rings did one of the best jobs of that as well. My favorite film however, of all time, is Donnie Darko. There really is no best movie ever, because there's so many unbelievable films out there that are all great in quality and amongst those films it's really a matter of opinion.

Hi there lotr fan! I loved the movies, now I love the books more. Why don't you try to read it? I'll just warn you that they change it. The book is magical and more calm, but I appreciate more because you know...it's Tolkien's. Have a great week.

I don't know, I mean where do I set the bar? What are the criteria? I love watching movies and for me, it's either they are entertaining or not. Of course there are levels of entertainment for each, but if I had to break it down to categories then I guess many would be in the list of my favorites but none really the best because it would just be so hard to rate it that knowing some movie beats it in another criteria.

I see. I think it's Lotr because it had romance, adventure, comedy, well, many genres but specially because I haven't watch any other movie that teaches so much about friendship, loyalty, union, courage...

Yep, I agree with you: Lord of the Rings is the best ever. I was always fascinated by the books. The films may not completely cover the story of the books, but that will never be, the shooting was fantastic and impressive. What is your second best?

I would say Star Wars but don't know if you would agree cause Sci-Fi's and Fantasy's fans are always different. I didn't even know about how Star Wars fans and Lotr's were not friendly to each other lol.

There are many wonderful movies out there. I find the Lord of the Rings movie better than Harry Potter movies. Though I am a fan of the Potter series. I read all the books. With JRR Tolkien, hope I would get the chance to read his books.

One cannot categorically state that one movie is the best and another isn't. It's almost impossible to come up with one specific one call the "best." As with all works of art, preferences vary with the individual. I began liking epics when I was younger, now I seem to have developed a fondness for the classics. I loved The Lord of the Rings - it certainly is in my top ten, so is Casablanca, Memento, The Count of Monte Cristo and a few others, Like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. But like I said, it is almost impossible to say a certain movie is the best. That is really opening the old debating can of worms and a topic of the sort can be debated forever!

Hi katie: Oh my God, it seems that you really love Lord of the rings. You are the biggest fan of the books and films I've ever met I have to say. I can give you a single title because there's no such a thing as best movie ever because there are so many genres and also so many subjects from the films that may touch you. Lord of the Rings is one of my favorite films but I also love serious documentaries which are great films too. I enjoyed a lot watching the last Harry Potter films and I also love this romantic film eternal sunshine of the spotless mind so it really depends on what you love to watch and there's always a genius film you should watch. For me the best movie ever was a dominican movie movie call "The christian of the secret" which was a comedy about how the christians act in a way in the church in another way in the street. I liked a lot because it was so real.

The best movie for me is a kind of underground one called The Craft, I identify myself so much with the characters. It's an 90s movie which already looks old fashioned, but it's that kind of charming old fashion that we love we have enjoyed of. Plus, the main topic of it is Wicca, the religion I follow.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy was indeed a well done set of movies. I wouldn't say they were the best, but rather that they are AMONG the best of the genre. Since there are so many movies that are truly excellent, you can't just compare them all because they are just so different from each other. Also, still waiting for them to bring out The Hobbit, since they promised it but haven't delivered yet.

hi:) yeah Lord of the rings is really a good movie, but you're right the books are a lot better, I also like the twilight movie, also their books are good and also harry potter, these are the three movies that I fall in line on the first showing day:D
