Love yourself and help save planet earth

Interesting....that is true though. A bunch of miserable people could equal a miserable world. I have always taught my children and any other younger person that I have had the chance to advise...never do anything that you can't sleep with that night or any nights in the future...if you can't smile at yourself in the mirror afterwards..don't do it. If there is any question as to if it is right or wrong..it is usually wrong and be proud of the person you are and the things that you do.

Are you referring to a peaceful, conscientious participation from all human beings in this world? You are probably saying it would then be an idealistic world with all people being scrupulously non-invasive and good and helping. [When you had written 'save planet earth' I thought it was something to do with preserving nature but your subsequent discussion made me understand your statement this way.] In response, I feel that this love for oneself would be there with all human beings .It need not be a narcissist love but it is a sort of self-interest. But whether love for oneself would prevent one from wrong doing is open to question.. This self-love is what really makes people act unscrupulously and do anything to achieve their ends. I think peace with oneself would be the answer to your question. Love for oneself makes people stab each other too.

I think you are right. Misery begets more misery. Looking for joy makes you much more likely to find it.
