What about this sentence structure and grammar?

when he was summoned, he admitted to having committed the crime.
I have a doubt on this sentence. Is it correct to add word with ing after to. Is it correct.That is confused after to of adding ing. PL CLARIFY

Yup. The sentence is grammatically correct. You can add -ing after the word to for certain words. It also depends on the rest of the sentence. I'm afraid I don't remember the name of the grammar rule but I am quite sure that sentence is correct.
