It is possible for you to close your eyes to what you dont want to see. Can one also close the heart to what you dont want to feel and how (if yes)?

Yes, one can choose to shut one's heart to certain feelings. For me, if negative feelings arise, for instance, I might tell myself to practise control over those feelings and it works! Or I might distract myself by focusing my attention on sth else instead of dwelling on those feelings. Studies have shown that when a person consistently dwells on sth (whether it's a feeling or a thought or sth else), it tends to lodge within his subconscious mind. And when that happens, it will be hard to remove it (feeling, etc). Some similar event will trigger the same kind of emotions, which will make it hard to shut his heart to such emotions.

I believe that everyone can have control over his emotions. It's a matter of choice. So, you can have control over your own emotions too.:) Hv a great wk ahead!:)

for me it's possible.based on my experience i closed my heart when someone hurt me a long time ago.it wasn't easy but its possible. you must really have the courage and determination to shutdown your feelings to someone.. it actually had a positive outcome and i never regret that did that for my own good.

I agree . But i guess we all have different abilities because for one i find it extremely difficult to get over my feelings. Most times when i'm hurt, sleeping becomes very difficult for me because my mind will be occupied with the issue no matter how hard i try. So for me its just time that erase or lighten my feelings.

That is a tough question. My first thought was no, you can't close your heart like you could your eyes or a door. That you just simply feel the way you feel. Either you like it or you don't. After a little more consideration though, I am not so sure. I think the mind is a wonderful thing. I wonder if our feelings aren't controlled by what we think. If you hear something about yourself enough, you will begin to believe it, whether that something is positive or negative. I had a friend that would look into the mirror every morning and give herself a pep talk. She claimed that on the mornings she didn't want to get up and get going, that these little pep talks really worked to change her attitude and made her day go better.

Well i think i can't close my eyes to what i want to see and to close my heart to what should i feel. because its so hard to close your eyes if you really want to see that thing or person. Well heart is really hard to close because every second the heart beats for a certain feelings. .... have a nice day..
