For me, both of them is important. If you don't have respect for yourself. How can you gain respect from others, if they see you like is already a waste.

I agree. It's the golden rule. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

i think self-respect is more important, it's like taking care of your own body, how the hell can you take care of others if you don't know how to take care of yourself. Without the respect for your won how can you appreciate the respect other people have for you, you must also set a limit on how you respect yourself, it mus not be too high and it also must not be too low.

Another easy to answer question. More importantly is self respect. Because with self respect you understand how to respect, therefore, you will be able to respect others more easily.

In my opinion self respect is more important, and that's why: If we have respect for us and for our body we respect the others too. If we don't like to receive something bad we don't do it to the others.

Actually if you have a respect in yourself, you'll get to respect others eventually. It's because you are keeping a good reputation therefore, you will do your best not to hurt other people. In this cruel world, both are important because there are times that life isn't fair. Therefore loving yourself is significant.
