The high school crush apparently innocent until imaginary becomes reality. Everybody has experienced an infatuation on their professor. It is seamlessly normal. Teen boys and girls are often attracted to teachers who are near in age or prompt them of their parents. Frequently, teens seek out adults in school for guidance and coziness from typical teen conflict. The unruly is when that coziness becomes something more and lines are crossed. Here is my advice to teenagers, keep your infatuation to yourself! Though some professors may be grateful by your comments, most are NOT. They are your professors - no more, no less. They want to teach you – not DATE you. And if you try to go elsewhere the student-teacher relationship, you are entering risky territory.

There was a TV show about this...I watched a couple of episodes but I didn't watch the rest. The teacher got into a lot of trouble because her student had a crush on her and kept on pursuing her. I think there's a difference between simply admiring your teacher and looking up to him and having a crush on him/her.

I think it is good to have TV shows and movies on it to make young people better understand that it is only a crush or infatuation and as time goes on it will vanish.

Hello. You are wrong, not everyone has a crush on their teacher, so your comment is crap. And I don't think people are often attracted to people their own age, in fact everyone is completely different in preferences to a person. And actually, some teachers WANT to date you. You not know about the incident where a teacher fell in love with her 13 year old student. She went to jail. pumped out a couple of kids to this boy and now she's married to him. Get yo' facts straight.

His comment is not a crap because it's his own opinion and besides it was not a comment it was a discussion pogi253 started. Anyway he never said that everyone has a crush on their teacher and i believe that he was giving his own views so no harm done :)

Pogi, just because I wasn't turned on by my 70year old professor? are you kidding? LMAO lol. You're not too bright eh? -------------------------------------------- Hi coffeelover, perhaps you didn't read his message properly then? because it clearly states "Everybody has experienced an infatuation on their professor". Last I checked, 'infatuation' means 'crush'. Don't get me wrong, I agree that people should have their own opinion, but when that opinion is accusing innocence, degrading, insulting and defaming good people, then it becomes a judgment rather than an opinion, unless the person can provide facts to back up the astounding assumptions. Therefore, his 'opinion' is crap. And I won't hesitate to stand up to those who tell crap about others. So like I said before, get yo' facts straight. Peace.

haha.i have experienced this but that was when i was in college.it was a very funny story. i had a crush on my clinical instructor before, he was really cute and charming.my classmates always tease me and our instructor. they told our instructor that i had a crush on him that was very shameful to me. but one day, my instructor told me that i need to become a nurse first before i could have him i think that's what he meant. but know what? i am already a nurse now and my instructor is already a woman..hehe. i mean he's a she now.

A lot of people have a crush on their teacher at some point or another. I had a crush on two of my teachers. One was a gym teacher, and another was my Math professor in college. My Math professor was hot, he was so cute that you wanted to learn math. I was bad at Math, but I tried my hardest to learn it as best as I could for him. It makes all of the difference in the world when you have a cute teacher to learn from.

Hi, pogi253. Having a crush may seem innocent from the start, but if mutual and obsessive feelings start to take place, then this is when the situation may become out of control. I saw a movie related to this issue this summer. There was a young male student into a teacher's class and he had a crush on his female teacher. Everything turned really ugly and the teacher was almost raped by her male student at her home. An innocent crush is less harmful than an crush that is intense. It is just best for students and teachers to not become involved with each other but, just only in a teacher and student relationship that is not personal and emotionally attached.

I am going to try this again since it wouldn't let me post last time. I think that the high school crush is rather normal for young kids growing up. I had a couple of handsome teachers in my experience and they were great. Never got that cozy but they were great teachers and I enjoyed them.

i had experience it before too. there was one teacher that i admired so much, he's so smart and intelligent, and i try everything to impress him. he became an inspiration to me, i study til break of the dawn to get the highest score in the class. although he captivated majority of the girls heart in the classroom, and almost everyone are so vocal with their feelings toward our professor, i kept mine in secret. i never show any sign that i have a crush on him and that i admired him so much. reason why he choose me to become his friend. but that ends there. although he treated me as a friend, i i keep my distance from him. i don' t want us to be close because i don't want to develop deeper feelings other than friendship with him. so for me, there's nothing wrong if a student will have a crush or admire her teacher, for as long as she knew well where to put herself and her limitations. everything must have a boundary.

I think it's kind of normal because the teacher not only knows more than us but they are older so the student usually feels confortable to trust the teacher and also they feel protected. But should always remain a fantasy because the teacher must always say NO.

When you study in school and colleges there are many chances that a teacher may be 5 or 6 years older than you.In some cases they also look hot and beautiful. So after all the students being human will have crush on them.It happened to me many times in my school. But in college it happened to me only once that too in my final year, because she was the only young lecturer who came for our class.

Very good points. Kids sometimes can get themselves or an adult in a big mess with crushes. An adult that shouldn't persue a situation sometimes will take advantage of a young person and in some cases a young person can take a teacher wrong and think they have a crush on them just because they are being nice to them. It is a real scary situation.

I think its normal for students to have crushes on their teachers, especially if they are handsome and beautiful. When i was a college student i had also a crush on cute clinical instructors! Hahaha. Its good coz you will be inspired during duty and classes. But i know my limits, i never had any relationship with a teacher.

I think that it is a common thing that a lot of students do actually have a crush on their teachers. You have to be seriously careful with this because there is a difference between having a crush on somebody, which is normal behaviour, and have an obsession with someone. If you choose to act upon your crush, then this can have serious consequences for the teachers as well, as they could lose their jobs if there is any sign at all of the fact that they might have encouraged the behaviour of a student who had a crush on them.

I have a little story to tell. In high school we had a dancde teacher whom i thought was gay and he would bring in guys in that dance class. I had this class for two hours out of the day and at the end of the day. And for a couple years i had this one girl in my class and she had a sister and the sister would tell me things that they would go and do over the weekend but i never told anyone. So now the girl inmy dance class and the dance teacher are now married and have a family of there own. Really weird because i swear he was gay but i guess he sint gay but just likes both sexes which is really weird to me.

It's just but natural for students to have a crush on their handsome professor. However, they should know the limitations of such crushes. It is a professional ethic for a professor , not to be in a relationship with his student. Hence, students please control yourselves.

That's perfectly normal to teenagers, but should not be taken for granted since I've known some who's imaginary love became reality. I have my school mate during high who got a crush on our math instructor, though they ended together as husband and wife but the process was quite rough, it affected my school mate's future, she was not able to finish her studies right away since she got pregnant. That's the consequence. I too have some story to share. I have this college professor whom we find him so strict and cruel! He is handling one of our major subject. This subject is quite difficult and we really need to pass this one since the tuition is so high and we cannot afford to fail. But seemed like this professor of ours feels happy every time he sees students failing! Whew! What a heartless brute! I really don't feel like going especially if its his subject, but since its a major subject I have no choice. So what i did is to consider him as my CRUSH! He will gonna be my inspiration every time I go to school, especially attending his class! And so that i'll be inspired studying his boring yet challenging subject! ;-).... It really do good to me, i was able to pass not only his subject but all the rest with flying colors. He doesn't know this, but thanks to him! Wish I could tell him that he was one of my inspiration! hehehehe
