Love & Lost OR Never Have Loved At All?

In the poem, "In Memoriam", Tennyson writes "I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all." Is this true to you? Would you rather have loved and lost or never have loved at all? Personally, I would rather have never loved at all. What are your thoughts?

I've had 3 girlfriends and 4 boyfriends, and I believe that it is better to have loved and lost. Why? because with each relationship, I learned something. I learned more about myself, I learned more about dealing with people, I learned more about handling relationships,I learned more about what to do on certain scenarios. I learned what attitudes I should posses. Plus, there's the fact that at some point in the relationship I was happy, and at some point I fought to keep the love alive. With each new relationship, it's like I'm this new but experienced person and I am able to love and treat my partner better. Right now with my boyfriend, I can say that our relationship wouldn't work out if i hadn't had 6 exes.

i agree with the poem it is better to have loved an lost than never to have loved at all. it is always a beautiful feeling when we love. we then feel that we are not alone when we feel love. in love it would bring the best and the worst sides of us. you will get to know ourselves better when we love. it is the time of self knowing and self improvement to be the best for the person that we love. it is a beautiful risk that we should take because it's not all the time that we lose in love. we should never forget that once in our lives we were happy with that feeling and that made us whole as a person. pain in love is part of the beauty when we love we should not look always on the negative side of loving. it is always good to love. and when you love you will keep on searching for that feeling again.
