hello friends... Today I heard a news that Muster Bluster Sachin Tendulkar has suggested something and has alrey sended a proposal to ICC to make 50 overs one day international match much popular...The news also mentioned that Sachin has made this kind of proposal for Test Cricket too for increasing the popularity earlier... Now YOU must be interested about the proposal...here it is... 50 overs gave should be divided into two parts of 25/25 over...just like 5 day test match ..one team will bat for the first 25 over and then next team and then again like the test cricket...he also suggested to give the permission of a limit of 12 over per bowler for 4 bower..... Now it is looking like a huge change to me...hope it will work too.. though they have not mentioned any thing more about this... I don't even know the news is at all authentic or not.....so have anyone of you heard the same thing? As I feel it will be a nice change to the 50 overs game..but all can say after a visual performance in this format....by the way...what your point of view on this? what you actually feel about this thing?....share your views on the same thing....

marinerpulak: My view - it will be interesting to have it like the way it has been suggested. If it is accepted and implemented then we will know whether it is liked by the people. I am envisaging a situation, if the first team get all out within first 25 overs, then how it will be treated. I suggest another mode -- play all the number of overs irrespective of your players being fully out or not. If all are out then again same batsmen will play second/third life . In this case players may not mind getting out and will score more runs.

Wow! a great suggestion but i am little confuse with it about the half and half play as it might be possible that a team make less runs in first twenty five over and then other batting second make more and again first team make lesser runs which is not enough to par the two of the plays of the single by a team. What i mean i give by exmaple A in 25 over make 70 runs and in first chance B 120 Now in next time A make 30 more and get all out now how will this make sense and there are many like this. Sachin sggestion is good but may have many problem for 50 over but i think test matches need more like this than 50 over matches.

so it will be like test cricket .....but hope all will try to play like a t20 innings...and it will make the matches very high scoring one...anyway I am not thinking there is any nonsense thing in that proposal

This is a idea that he has been suggesting for quite some time. This is not the first time I have heard him speak on this. Some time back when ICC was worried about the popularity of 50 over game due to the T20s, they had sent feelers to cricketing greats to come up with novel ideas. One of these was this by Sachin. It was apparently tried out for one season in Australian domestic league, but the response was not great!! Cheers! Ram

It will be interesting, its will also save time. No more sitting and watching the match of 50 overs, as we all know that T20 matches are more popular than 50 over matches these days, so making it a 25 overs would be very cool Idea. I support Sachin's view.

A very nice proposal from Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar to Icc and i think what he suggest i more like a t20 game where the odi get saved? Also news came that it was rejected by icc as there is many flaws in the impleentation of this nww propoasla by god of cricket.

Hi marinerpulak, I can see how that would be popular, as it seems to be sort of a mix of T20 and ODI. I'm actually more concerned about the selection of a new Australian cricket coach at the moment as the current one had recently stepped down. There have been talks about Shane Warne taking the coaching spot. Back on topic, I would love to see this form of cricket in play, although I still love the classic 5 day test matches.
