My daughter

As some of you know, my daughter Kristen is 27 weeks pregnant. I am on my way to the hospital to be with her now. She has developed a blood clot. They are still running tests to find out the extent of the clot. I'm asking for two things...Number one please pray for Kristen Number 2, do you know anyone who has been through this? What was the outcome? Was the baby ok? I'm scared to say the least.....

I will pray for Kristen. I think it depends on where the blood clot is as to what they have to do. I do not know anyone that has had this problem. Keep us posted.

I know I'm late getting back to everyone. It has just been crazy. I haven't had time to get on mylot or gather to update and I feel bad that I just left you all hanging. She spent a week in the hospital. It turned out not to be a blood clot, though they nevery did find out for sure why they had originally thought that. They just called it pre term labor. She is still on modified bed rest and just finished up her 32nd week of the pregnancy!

A friend of mine commented when we were both childbearing age that as we get more and more technology we are finding more and more problems or possible problems. I wonder if this is part of that phenomenon.

We had an ultra sound earlier this week. Bentley is doing just great. He was playing peek a boo with us while the technician was trying to measure him. Picking up the umbilical cord and putting it over his eyes and twisting it around and around his arm like a bracelet. He's already a little mess! LOL

I hope that your daughter Kirsten is okay. Good luck to her and hopefully the hospital have her condition under control. I so hope that the baby is well. In my last pregnancy I went into severe bleeding after my baby girl was born. I had four blood clots. My little girl is now 2 years old. Good luck.

Oh goodness! Thanks to God that you are ok. We are having a little boy. Kristen had another ultra sound this last week to check on his progress. The steroids they have her on have caused her to gain alot of weight, and they wanted to check and see where he was weight wise. His measurements show that he is a little less than 4 pounds now!

thanks so much. Kristen went back to the doctor on Friday and Bentley weighs about 3 and a half pounds! We were excited. Of course every day that he stays tucked away inside his mommy is better for all of us! The ultra sound was funny. He appeared to be trying to play peek a boo with us.

God is definately in control. Why is it that when things are going great, we tend to forget this fact? It seems that when a problem occurs is when we find ourselves reaching out to him. I try to thank him for the good times as well, but I'm guilty of trying to take control of it all myself when nothing is going wrong.

She's doing much better. I am the one having trouble now. My blood pressure is giving me troubles. I know much of it is worrying about her and the baby, and I'm trying to be calm. But it's hard some days! Thanks for the prayers! They were definately felt by all that were involved!

It is a He (Bentley Tyler) and we are still safely tucked next to his mommy's heart! Kristen went to the doctor on Thursday and they did another ultra sound. He was doing great. He's growing according to where he should be and there is no sign of any residuals from the medicines they had to give Kristen for the blood clot. We are so thankful for all the prayers that were sent up for us.

First of all, I pray for Kirsten . Carpenter! Do not worry. We do not really know the implications of all this and we would always tend to imagine the worst when such a thing happens. It is not so. God is there to take care of her and the baby and we ought not to worry over this. They are still running tests. I am sure they are going to ask her to be on complete bed rest and she will be alright. Did she have some mild bleeding earlier? My daughter -in-law had mild bleeding when she was just two months pregnant and she was asked to be on bed rest. After that she was quite normal. Your daughter's case is an advanced duration and so they want to be doubly sure . I am sure it will all settle down. SHe will be asked to take bed rest and it is going to be fine.

She was put on complete bed rest for several weeks. Now she's on modified bed rest. She still can't do anything strenuous, but she can get up and ride in small trips in the car. She can ride an electric shopping cart at the grocery store, or be pushed in a wheel chair and go to church. she's enjoying this small amount of freedome after staring at her bedroom walls for that time. Both she and baby are doing great.

thank you my friend. We definately felt them throughout these last few weeks. She is at home and on modified bed rest now. She can get up and do some things. For instance, she can ride to the grocery store with one of us. But she either has to stay in the car OR she can get on one of the motorized grocery carts and ride around the store. I'll give you three guesses which decision she makes! LOL I know the weeks of sitting at home had her down in the dumps and she enjoys getting out, even for the smallest activities.

I certainly appreciate all the prayers. We all do. We appear to be over the worst. The clot is gone, and we are to a point in her pregnancy where if the baby had to be delivered that the problems should not be severe. He only weighs a little less than 4 pounds, so needless to say we don't want him to come this early, but each day we keep him safely inside his mommy, we are grateful for.

Sorry to hear that your daughter is undergoing this and yes I will certainly place her, the baby and you family in my prayers. I am sure it is very freighting. I have not had anyone with a blood clot but do know of several who had other issues. Where is the blood clot? I do hope that they can somehow get rid of it and or make sure it does not affect your daughter and or the baby. Stay strong for her and wishing all goes well.

The blood clot was in her lower leg and so they were able to dissolve it without complication. They kept her in the hospital for about a week just observing to make sure that her blood pressure was going to stay down, because it had spiked with the clot. Now mine is high! I wonder why that is? LOL

I am very sorry to hear this awful news. Although I do not pray, I hope everything will have a good outcome, and the baby has no harm. Just try to say calm, and positive because your daughter needs your comfort and support right now.

Well everything seems to be going much better. The baby is growing and is on target to be a healthy 7 and a half pound baby if he makes it all the way to 40 weeks. Kristen is doing exactly what the doctor tells her to do. She's eating healthy and keeping her feet up to keep the swelling down in her legs and feet.
