So, I used to avoid foreign movies because I didn't think I would like a movie in subtitles. That will change from now on when it comes to horror movies. Last night I watched two unbelievably creepy movies (I was alone...and it was night...not pleasant). The first movie is called Shiver, made in 2008, it's a Spanish film. I thought this was a very scary, orignial movie. Very well written, very well acted...if you're a fan of the genre I think you'll enjoy this movie was much as I did (yes, I enjoy being scared lol). It is about a highschool boy who has to move with his mother to a small town in the mountains because he has bad reactions to sunlight (no this is not a vampire movie) and the city where they live was negatively affecting his health. This movie has a great twist towards the end that I did not see coming! And blood was very minimal in this movie You can watch this movie with instant streaming if you have Netflix. The second movie is called Them, made in 2007, it's a French film. I have to stress this next point...DO NOT look this movie up, DO NOT watch a trailer for it, DO NOT read other reviews. The less you know about this movie going into it, the scarier it'll be. If you have Netflix, you can watch this movie with instant streamiing (if you can plug your comp. into a big tv--oh boy! Will probably make it that much better). I was extremely happy with this movie because there was NO gore, there was a bloody leg at some point, but it wasn't overdone and gruesome. Like I said, you can watch both of these movies instantly with Netflix...if you don't have Netflix...see if you can do the two week free trial! lol If not, hopefully you can find them on dvd somewhere, they are worth a watch! And if you know of any other great horror movies please share (foreign or not). And if you can recommend ones that aren't overly gory, even better! lol
