My company just sent another batch of our temporary employees who survived their 3 month probationary period off for their drug tests. Yet again half don't return. WTF is up with these people? They're told as soon as they arrive that they'll have to pass a drug test before they're hired on full time after about 3 months. Yet they can't stay clean until then? I'm now going to have to completely rebuild my team...AGAIN. What's up with these people?

I know exactly what you are going through! You would think that in this day and time that people would want to do whatever they could to get a decent job but I have also found that it is not the case. They swab your mouth where I work randomly and I can not tell you the people we have lost. It's crazy. It's not a low paying job either..the factory I work at is one of the highest paying factories in the state. We do work alot of hours in the winter and believe it or not..that is also a reason why people quit! We are actually quite worried that we won't be able to find enough people to fill the positions we need this busy season. Just the other day a guy that I knew said he needed a job and had applied at a place and got turned down. I told him he should come to where I worked because they were going to be hiring but it would be 6 to 7 days a weeks for a while. You know what he says???? He doesn't need a job that bad! I was astounded...ok I said..whatever.

I know I find it hard to believe that there is a problem with the economy when I see so many people at my job get fired for not showing up, show up late or drunk or stoned. The best is cursing out the owner when he tells you to do some thing
