I want to be happy, but I am not at the current time.

I am feeling lots of depressed and sad at the present time, but I want to be happy and enjoy life. What are the tips you would suggest for me to become happy?

My friend do not too think about the problems you have...When i have problems i give it to God,I know He is my comfort and know the problems.. You can think positive,remember those good memories,looks around how beautiful the worlds,and if you did not think positive,your mind will go down and down to think those negative thoughts..

change our mind from bad thoughts to good thoughts is helps to wrk it well,,,Yes it is true and i also experience such situations..When i feel low,and start negatibve things make me low down and yes i think it to chnage my mind rightly to good..

Hi there Ajithlal! I believe that everyone wants to be happy but we just can't be happy all the time. Whether we like it or not, we also have to experience loneliness and failure so that we may learn and become a stronger person. The best thing to do to be happy is to surround yourself with people who loves you unconditionally like your family and friends. Knowing that your loved and cared for is a sure way to find happiness.

It is been a long time since you have posted it and I hope with all the remedies and tips,you would have made yourself away from the depression and alright now.I would like to add some points for people who would see it in future.Yoga is the best relief to make our minds calm and clean and be happy.It takes every stress out of our body and makes us enjoy even simple things in life.If one becomes a master in yoga,his life would be so calm and peaceful with loads of enjoyment.This is my personal opinion.

I suggest doing stuff you like. If you like to cook then cook if you like to shop and want to shop then go shopping and if you dont have money just go anyways and enjoy the day out of the house. If you like to write i suggest writing about what is making you not feel happy and hopefully that helps you some too. Doing things you like to do will help you become happy and enjoy your day more than what you are now. You have to do things in life that are going to make you happy them being a downer all day long and thinking about not being happy isnt going to help you out at all. I hope you have a good day now today.

I am trying to be busy now a days and really enjoying life. I am trying to spend on beach and other various places and try to get closer to nature and also trying to visit the various fairs and exhibition.

Hello. It makes me sad when I hear of people being depressed. I know that some or even most people have very good reasons to be depressed. In my case, I do feel really down sometimes for various reasons but I really don't like the feeling of being depressed so I always do everything I can to get out of it coz it's not a fun state to be. I'm a person who has faith in God so that helps me a lot. I pray a lot especially when I'm depressed and another thing that really helps me a lot in getting back on my feet is by counting my blessings. I focus on the things that are good in my life and I also think of those who are undergoing worse times than I am. I never forget that if I'm in a difficult situation, there are always other people who are in worse situations than me. I hope you feel better soon! Smile and the world smiles with you! :o)

Sometimes once told me: "If a situation makes you sad and you can't change the situation, change the way that you think about the situation" I try to follow that advice when I get sad and I try to focus on the things that I am grateful for instead of the things that I am unhappy about. I always able to find some things that I am grateful for, and it helps me to write a list of those when I feel sad and depressed. It also helps me move my thoughts away from myself and do something for people who are less fortunate than myself for instanse the homeless people in my town.

I sure wish I knew what to tell you. I am going through the same thing right now. I work so hard every single day but just cannot seem to find the time to enjoy life with so much going on. I stay depressed also. It is not my fault though. It is caused by alot of things going on around me. I hope it changes for you and I some day though. Just keep your head up and keep pushing forward. Never give up!

I think it really helps if we have a pet. Whenever I'm depressed and I cnnot stop thinking about my problems and I want to feel at least happy, I will just play with my little kittens and I will feel really better. They make me feel better when I'm sad. They reminds me how enjoyable life can be. My little kittens are so playful and energetic they don't care if they get dirty they just want to play and have fun. I want to absorb their happiness and their joy so I play with them too.

Hi! First, here is a hug as I too, am a victim of depression so I understand the feelings of it. Ok--are there some issues that are going on in your life that you can effectively do something about? What do you want to change and how can you? Can someone help you along the way? Can you write in a journal? Another is perhaps join a group or take a class. Do you like to bake? Knit? Are you into books? Are you good at oraganizing? Can you help people with others on that? Why? We're at the beginning of the holiday season and this may be a good time to get a hold of people before the holidays take over. Perhaps join a gym? When I was depressed last winter, I joined a gym and it really was a help to me as I needed sensible motivation. Check it out and see what is around you. Hang in there! It does get better as you need to get control of it and not the other way around. Just don't OVERDO it. HUG!!!! :-)

You can make some changes in your life that may lift your mood. Be sure you are eating good food with little or processing. Get plenty of rest and exercise. Positive affirmations and being around happy friends is good right now. Watch funny movies. Keep busy and don't let yourself be alone too long.

Watch a good movie. The inspirational ones. I am not sure which kind of movies that interests you but I like those that are really inspiring. Like "Morning Glory". Or maybe read an inspiring book. Sometimes crying can be therapeutic too.

I to am very depressed and unhappy in my life and things have gotten worse these past 4 months because I live in a small city that I hate. Before that I lived in another small city for nearly 1 year and got very depressed; I didn't like it there but after being here I realize it was better there. Ok back to you. Well you need to pinpoint what thing, or things, would make you happy or happier. Then you take steps, even little steps, to try to achieve that goal that would make you happy or at least happier. If you have some money you can do things that will make your life better but if you lack money (like I do) then it can be very difficult. I feel like my circumstances make it impossible for me to be happy. If you like the city you live in that makes life allot better. You can go for walks. You can walk around the downtown, take a nature walk or go to a park. You can take up a hobby. I tried this last month I bought this little $5 needlepoint beginners picture; I've totally messed it up. But I want to try again. I'm also thinking about gardening and growing something that I might be able to sell. You just got to think up stuff that will fill your life up more like cooking, gardening or some kind of art or craft. I can't cook much considering I can't use the dirty oven; the fire alarm goes off when I try to so I'm afraid to use it. That throws out baking. I did try to clean it but that didn't work. This crummy place.
