Apparently, these were the last words uttered by Troy Davis. He also said he didn't have a gun that day and they were about to kill an innocent man. I went to bed when a temporary Stay of Execution was granted, only for my hopes to be dashed when I've just logged onto my computer a few minutes ago to find out this man had indeed been executed, some 4 hours later. The guy must've been going through agony in all that time. I will only say one more thing about this; whether or not the guy was guilty is irrelevant. The Death Penalty doesn't actually solve anything does it? It doesn't stop one person killing another and this execution won't stop it either. The fact that it's actually witnessed by various people is abhorrent in itself. Some would argue..well, what if it was a relative of yours that got shot? Well, I would argue..what about the family of the one executed? Each has a family so that argument goes out the window, in my view. The Death Penalty is discussed over here when there are high profile cases BUT I'm not in favour of it and never will be. I actually believe Troy Davis to be innocent and I also believe (somewhat controversially) that if he'd been white there's no way he'd be on Death Row from 1991. Actually, he wouldn't be there in the first place. I do love America and Americans but the Death Penalty thing? No, I can't agree with it. I'm no expert on religion but doesn't it say, "Thou Shalt Not Kill" in the Bible?

I have to agree with you one hundred percent. I also think he was innocent and I also agree that if he wasn't black he would be home attaching TV right now.
