I upload folders to adrive.com and access them whenever I need. I use to keep in briefcase in yahoo till it was closed. I have a standby hard disk wherein periodically I load the files as back up. Further current happenings are stored in pendrive or sent as attachments in mails for emergency,. Only I problem I face is whenever I have to create a new document -- I re copy the folder in another place. that means I may have 3 or 4 files or folders in the same name. Luckily I do not have requirements for more space than what I have,.

it's nice way to upload it to other site.. I was doing that only but to keep setups and projects on third party site is little dangerous..

lovedue: For me they are all only training materials and there is no secrecy involved in them. It suited me to load them to other sites.

Oh wow. You should delete some of your files. Having backups is good but having too many backups may be a little pointless in my opinion. Change one thing in the file. If you don't like it by the end of the week, then delete it. If you feel the change is good, then delete the backup. Or if you insist on having a lot of backup, then buy an external hard disk or store your files online. There are a lot of free as well as paid file storage sites these days.

Deciding about deleting our own folder is a problem. Sometimes we feel that we should not delete and that is why more folders and files are stored in different places. Yes. I do have extra hard disk. Many times I forget about the number of files created for different purposes.

Hmm. Maybe you could label the files when you save them? Add in what it is you changed to the title. That could help jog your memory a bit.

I am a strong believer in backups, but I do not bother with documents or spreadsheets because if I update or amend one then the original becomes obsolete. The only time would be if I was amending a rather complex spreadsheet, in which case I would save the original in case there was an issue with any of the new formulae used. As soon as I am happy with the amended version then I would delete the original.

I do the same thing and as you it eats up my hard disk space. I try to go through one folder every once in a while and delete outdated or now useless things to save space. It does add up over time. Don't forget also to run disk clean up that clears up some junk files as well :) Every few months (which is not frequent enough) i make a backup on an external drive of ONLY the things i feel are important. Hope this helps :)

Ya it is very good idea to keep the backup files because it help us any time when ever we are required and our hard disk is also not affected because of these. Me too keep backup file of things which i required because i have experienced once that my computer had got formatted because of that after that i always keep a backup file and it is good enough to maintain data

Even though it is always important to keep a back up, I normally dont . I back up my most important documents on a flash drive or cd. I dont used a lot of memory since I don't really used a lot of programs .

I would like to have as much space as possible but i can't. I'm not even having backup files in my computer as my hard disk is small in size. I'm considering getting an external hard disk for my stuffs because my whole computer crash. If i've having at least half of your 800GB of hard disk, i will be worry free, for there's no way i can use it up.
