These days strikes and shut-downs are taking an important position in peoples' fights for their rights or demands. In India, they usually call it BANDH ( shut-down or rather it's FORCED SHUT-DOWN) when the people who are demanding something from the government shut down shops, schools, modes of transport etc. But it affects a great number of people in many ways most of them are not at all interested in this drama. Should something be done to stop these shut-downs cause problems to peace loving citizens?

I am from india and i agree with you, yesterday we had another strike, some times it is so frequent, government never takes any action rather supports it indirectly because it is by the corrupt politicians. Best of luck. Professor

Common citizens would never want to disrupt their own daily life by engaging in such strikes. It is the selfish politicians who trigger these unwanted shut-downs and make our peaceful lives a hell!

the government really should do something.. i have been staying in india also, and i notice that people with power are using their power unwisely.. they are forcing people with no power to bandh.. i really hope this trend stop, because it is not good for the country itself..

yes, most of the times the normal citizens don't want it. but they are forced to observe bandhs by the powerful politicians and their followers. It is hurting India badly.

The protest for a separate Telangana State is onto 17th day now, and there is no response from the Indian Government yet! It's so strange. I am stuck here in Telangana region and not able to carry out my project.
