Is anyone going to watch the new Pan Am Show? It will be on ABC 9:00 central time. I have to watch it. My father worked and retired from TWA before the company shut down. And I remember seeing all those beautiful airline stewardesses. I could not be one I was not tall enough or weighed enough. You had to be a certain height, weight, and they put you through modeling training. They always looked polished. It will bring back a lot of memories for me to watch this series. Who else is going to watch? And what do you think it will be like?

It looks like it might be good. It kind of reminds me of the movie starring Leonard Dicaprio, where he pretended he was a pilot. I usually try and watch the new shows once or twice to see if I like them. The only one I have no interest at all in is the one about the Playboy Club. I have On Demand and watch a lot of shows on there. There aren't as many commercials and you can fast forward on most of them. The only problem is I don't know which of the new shows will be available on there. I try to watch them and then see if they are featured and I can watch the ones I like any time.

Go to ABC.com on your computer and you can watch any new show the next day as it previews. Sometimes I have to run errands and can't watch my favorite soap so catch it the next day on the station its on on the computer.

Thanks! I will try and remember that if I miss a new show. I watched the first night and I liked it. I thought it might be more of a soap opera without much of a story line, but I was wrong.

I watched it and liked it so far. Back when I was in the Army during Vietnam(I never went over there) around 1969 and 1970, the general public treated the guys in uniform quite badly. But when I flew, mainly on American and never on Pan Am, the stewardesses were always very nice to the guys in uniform. I would fly home on military standby which often meant long waits to get on a flight, eight hours one time, and the couch section was always packed. The stewardesses would sometimes ask if a guy(I never was on a flight with a woman in uniform) in uniform wanted to move up to first class if there were a lot of empty seats there. I had this happen to me twice and one time it was on a late night flight and one of the stewardesses came and knelt in the aisle next to my seat and talked to me whenever she had the chance which was a lot since almost everyone else on the plane was asleep. I have few good memories of being in the Army but the kindness of the stewardesses will always be something I will remember.

Thats awesome stealthy!!! I was in the Army from June 1970 to Sept. 1972. Did you go through Lambert Field in St Louis, Mo.? Since you flew on military standby I assume you got to spend a lot of time in the USO's that were set up for us. I would see guys in there playing pool, etc. and I never entered I thought it was for the guys. Gee what a innocent WAC I was. But then everything was kind of related in talk to the men. Yes the stewardesses were always kind. I think they were impressed to see a girl in full military uniform. As you said they were used to the guys. thanks for the comments really glad to know that about you. you made my day!

I am undecided. The commercials remind me of that movie - Catch Me if You Can - but I know the show is nothing like that movie. I have so many shows I'm DVRing this season that I can hardly keep up, but I think I will throw this on the list and give it a chance. I didn't know that about the stewardesses having to be a certain height and weight, now I'm more interested to see what this show is like :)

If they make it true to form then you will get to see how some will get in as others won't and then show all the stuff that happens on the flights. I did not get to watch it Monday night gonna sit down this afternoon w hile I am making cookies and watch it here on the computer.
