We have a good amount of raw peanuts here in our home right now and I don't know what to do with them. I don't really like peanuts. And raw peanuts, absolutely not So can you guys please give me some ideas of what I can do with them? Like make them into some delicious things? Some recipes maybe?? And can you also throw down some benefits of peanuts? I don't really eat peanuts but who knows the points you mentioned might make me reconsider. But wait, are there any disadvantages of eating peanuts too?? Thanks

Hi thatgirl, peanuts are good for health but not raw one, you have to just fry them in a pan without adding oil or ghee, after fry add with jaggery or sugar and eat. If you eat like this you can gain good points of blood level but there is disadvantage too you will simultaneously put on wait a lot. peanuts contains cholesterol. We here in India we add peanuts powder to the curries for good taste. There are many recipes using peanuts. Most south Indian people will use in fried rice. I will tell you the recipe for it: Boil rice and keep it aside, put a pan pour little oil, after heat just add jeera, mustered seeds, black gram, Bengal gram, chills, curry leaves, also add powders of jeera, fenugreek, dhaniya and turmeric powder, asafoetida little time fry it add with peanuts then add salt later add boiled rice. Try it and see good to eat. It is common food in south India. Have a good day.

You need a pan, some butter, salt and crushed clove of garlic (or sugar and no salt or garlic). Heat the pan and slowly toast the peanuts. Halfway done, you place the other ingredients. They will end up a bit sticky, so you let them cool down. Get a good movie, place them on a dish and start munching YUMMY!!!

The only thing that I can think of to make is homemade peanut brittle. It is fairly easy to do, although I have only made it once and do not remember the recipe.

There are many things you can do with them and what comes to mind is add them in some tasty salads and or create some Taffy Apples and sprinkle them on. I don't like plain peanuts myself but find that they can add to some meals for better enjoyment.

peanuts in salads are actually not that common, which is strange. people put all sorts of other nuts into salads. i think thats a great idea!!

Actually something I learned recently on my trip to Arkansas. It seems their are loads of peanuts everywhere we went and one of the dishes was a salad with peanuts in them and I found it to be yummy. After arriving back I was like how can I too create those dishes.

You can boil them (including the shell) for 30 minutes and add salt in the water if you prefer, this is common way to eat peanut in the Philippines, you can also remove from the shell and roast in a wok , stirring constantly until slightly seared.

I like raw peanuts in salt water. You can then remove the peanuts and add some of your favorite spices like mango powder, black salt, some amount of chilli powder and some raw vegetables like onion, corianders leaves. Mix all these stuffs and have it. You can have this if you like tangy dishes. Else eliminate the mando powder and black salt and just add those raw vegetables with probably little mashed potato. These nutty salads are indeed healthy for us. It provides good amount of protein and the best choice for people who would love to be in diet! It is equally disadvantageous if you are allergic to nuts. And, kids are not supposed to have much nuts as it may not get digested.

hi thatgirl13 raw never tastes really good but roasted peanuts have a lot of health benefits like all nuts they have good fats, ometa 3 and omega 6 oils that are good for us and protect against heart trouble and have antioxidants too. I lo ve dry non salted roasted peanuts a lot.they are a healthy snack as opposed to sugary fatty snacks that are not.

you boil it. its much healthier than frying. here at home when my wife buys raw peanuts... well that is with the house still intact she boils it. she washes it thoroughly then she boils it. when it is boiling put salt then boil a little more. after that she strains it and let it cool. if it is warm enough to hold we open it and eat the peanuts inside. we always do that on a lazy sunday watching DVD. it does taste good.

WOw, give me some please? I love peanuts. But for me the easiest but tasty way of cooking them is just boiling them. Wash them well and the put water just enough that they are fully submerged. Put at least 2 tablespoon of rock salt and let them boil. When you see that they are already soft, you can already put them off the stove and let them cool a bit. Eat them while they are hot. You will see that they really are delicious. Would you believe i can consume a big bowlful of boiled peanuts when watching TV. They are nutritious and fibrous.

Hi ya thatgirl13 Well peanuts are very high in protein but are also high in fat and those one's you buy salted or dry roasted are high in salt. I have no idea what to do with raw peanuts to be honest as me and my kids would eat them raw with little problem. I would maybe try and roast them or fry them in a bit of low fat butter. Why do you have so many raw peanuts then if you don't like them?

Peanuts are high in proteins but they are also high in fat. I like peanuts and would probably just eat them raw. I thought they all were anyway because you get some in shells. I am curious why you have so many peanuts if you don't eat them.

You certainly are lucky to have peanuts in your garden. I have them every single day. I bring raw peanuts and roast them without salt and eat a tablespoon every day They have several healthy benefits. You can visit http://len7288.hubpages.com/hub/The-Health-Benefits-of-Peanuts. Peanuts could added while cooking other vegetables also.

Personally I like to eat peanuts, I think they are yummy for me I especially like them salty, my hubby likes the sweet especially when they make them with cinammon and sugar at the malls. You can try making some peanut butter with them, I don't know if you like that. Even though I like eating peanuts, I don't particularly like peanut butter though, I don't know I never really got the taste for it. I do how ever like chocolate and you can probably make some cover chocolate peanuts. That's yummy!!! Well whatever it is you decide to do GOOD LUCK!!!
