I get many new friend requests on mylot and most of them I approve. The reason I do this is I love meeting new people and enjoy watching them grow on mylot. I don't want to visit them on the social sites like facebook and such, it's way to personal for me, but here on mylot it's just right, and I look forward to their discussions and responses.

I enjoy making new friends here, too, but I often find myself turning off the notification feature because I'm disappointed in their content. For instance, I approved one that seemed interesting and seemed to have some decent ideas but once the notifications started rolling in I was overwhelmed. One day there was 24 discussions they started, all about trivial things that were more like polls than conversation. I turned the notification feature off on that one. But I'd say 50% of the ones I approve turn out to be interesting people that I enjoy.

I pretty well feel the same. I am not a facebook person, but I am MyLot through and through. Sometimes you can just sense when someone is going to settle in here and be great to visit with through their discussions. It is fun. Kind of cozy like a fireplace.

I am like you approving everyone as per request. My list is over pouring with friends from all over the world. And the interesting part is the exchange of thoughts in way of discussions which we can share our thoughts and make the topic of discussion more interesting.

That is exactly what I feel too. On here, getting to know people is good but not on facebook. I think facebook is way too personal too and that is why I never add stangers on there. Here it is just right.

I accept all the friend requests that come. I do not look much into their profile before accepting them. Only those who I get very close to after interacting with them I may share my personal email id with them. I too look forward to discussions from friends here.

I do as you do: I almost always accept the friend requests. I do not accept people with not posts though: they have to prove they are interested in mylot as I don´t want to fill spaces in my friend´s pages or be spammed by people who want to send promotions via PMs. I do exchange sites with friends, if they wish, but that´s something else.

I can understand how you feel. I have some friends on some of the sites I use as friends on FaceBook. But, I agree that with MyLot, it is much more interesting to friend them here and stick with them here. It gives a certain feeling, a special feeling. I love it here in MyLot and love making friends also.

I also always accept friend requests and it does not bother me. I think here we can create new friendships, new relationships and many new contacts. of course it depends on us. I always accept new friend requests. nice day!

Same here I never reject friend requests here in mylot. Though I seldom make friend requests but I really want to add more friends here. In mylot, it is seldom that our friend requests are rejected unlike in facebook, I got several friend requests which were not accepted so I just cancelled them.

I guess I'm slow to approve friends who are under 100 points. I have those pending approval written down with their scores on the day they make their request. About once a week I go through the list and see how the scores have risen. If there has been almost no activity, they remain in limbo until it appears they are really active. I also check the profile to see if the person has some common interests and if we post to some of the same or equally interesting discussions. After all, if you are going to be participating in friends' discussions, you will want some indication you might be interested in them. I do accept some people under 100 if I've met them in discussions, and sometimes I will even send a friend request to a new person I've met that way who made interesting posts, because I do like to give someone with potential a hand up.
