Gray and foggy, sleepy, too quiet, wake up brain.

I was just trying to think and make intelligent responses this gray morning with gloomy fog and much too quiet room. My roomie is again asleep. Its quieter than in a tomb here and I am finding I need a second cup of coffee. I am wondering am I alone in seeming to have a brain fog when the sky outside is grey sullen looking and all is quiet as if all are asleep but me ?Your take fellow mylotters. does this grey cloudy foggy weather produce brain fog in mylotting?

Being that I spend a great deal of time alone at home, regardless of what the weather is like I can tend to have brain fogs often. Coffee seems to be of great comfort to me too and the perk, perk, sounds of the coffee pot is like music to my ears. It is very gray and gloomy here as well, as it has been raining now for 4 days straight. It is expected to continue this way for another 3 more days.

hi HWG and bharatsharma I am glad I am not the only one. for three days now its gray and foggy and chilly without ever raining. lol think if it even just poured I would be a little more awake. oh I did not get my second cup of coffee this morning which would have helped. I also have a bit of problem coordinating mind and fingers in typing. I did get up and make a necessary trip to the bathroom. Now I feel a bit more awake. lol. Odd weather here for Sept as this is more like the June gloom we have each spring. oh well my mind is now awake and my hands are now doing what my brain tells them too.

Hi Hatley, Inspiration is like the wind, it comes and it goes, sometimes we try hard to catch it but whoosh, it is gone and we face a brain block, other times, things could be smooth and we went typing, typing, typing and before we know it, so much time has passed. Don't mind the fog, it will be good weather soon!

We had a heavy downpour really early this morning as I was about to go out to work, but that's good because it clears the haze which has been around for days, made the air all fresh again. That sounds like a wonderful dinner.

The first few days of winter when the weather changes and everything is cold and damp are always the worst, it seems that all my body wants to do is sleep until it adapts and well my brain it's neither here nor there. Then my body adapts and it goes back to it's usual self. This year the weather is very very weird. It is supposed to be cooling down and raining well it is nearly October but the News actually said it is hotter now the it was most of the summer (it was a coldish summer) but who knows when the dark days will come. Hope the weather has cleared somewhat though for you.

Since we knew we were going to travel this month we got our flu shots early. I wish we were having some rain, but it is hot here again. I did a task that will put me over what I need if it gets approved. I got paid on some of my other sites recently as well. Good luck Hatley.

I know the feeling very well. I get the brain fog in winter. In fact, I have to make an effort to get moving and keep my brain going. I am one of those where depression is worse in winter. Some of this comes from being brought up in a very hot town in the north, so moving to adelaide whre there is less sun really affects me. I am much better, more motivated and have alot more energy when the weather is fine to warm, even hot. I would be drinking coffee too!

It's been very rainy, gloomy and sometimes foggy lately, and chilly. Winter is coming! The leaves are starting to turn, too. I don't feel foggy but I certainly miss the sun when we have more than one day of this in a row. It's sunny now after a gloomy morning and it makes me more energetic. Sometimes on gloomy days I like to drink hot tea and watch an old silent movie. Those kinds of days are perfect for that if I have no work to do!

I am clear headed and happy as if I had a zillion dollars which I sure do not have. lol. well I keep entering the publishers clearing house sweepstakes but I bet who wins it will be someone who really does not need it. lol lol Oh well sometimes dreaming about something like that's more fun than winning something.

I have so many things that contribute to my brain fog, I cannot blame it all on the weather! If I am having a good day and the brain juices are flowing, that is wonderful, but if the fog sets in (for whatver reason) I just deal with it and come back online another time.

hello Miss Hatley, yeah seems like it could cause a brain fog indeed, a typhoon just passed as by and there was so much havoc in many parts of the country, we have not yet gotten over this one and again there is another one entering our area of responsibility todayand if it does not change course, it's due to hit us again this weekend..terrible.. so it does fog up the brain somewhat.Oh coffee, don't put sugar in yours, I'm enjoying a cup of hot ginger brew right now.

hi louieville nope I never did use sugar in my coffee and my fellow tablemates are amazed as I drink it black.even my son puts some milk in his.areyou in the philipines as I heard they are haveing somne tyhoons there, thats good to be devastating too. here in Californis its just earthquakes and a few tornadoes not often though. oddly we seldom have even hard winds here. back in South Dakota where I grew up we had really scary hard winds and electric storms oh lord and hail storms too. here its so different.I can imagine a typhoon really upsetting one.

This is something I have been through while most of the things around me are asleep. Sometimes, we need the silence around us to fine the inner peace within our heart and mind. The way you expressed yourself seems like you have found some comforts from your quiet surroundings and it's giving you the peace you have long for in a while. Hope you have a nice day.

hi jacklintan yes I did need some silence and now today is perfect the sun is out again, sunny and warm, not hot, and breezy just a really great California day.lol at least the weather is not expensive here like rents and food and everything else. lol and we are second in the nation in people out of jobs not exactly what one would want to brag about.
29 Sep 11
Yes definitely. I find it incredibly hard to function when its groggy and foggy and dark outside. I think it falls into that whole thing about the winter seasons can cause depression.. because we wake up to light, and we go to bed when it’s dark.. but in the winter months, we are waking up to it being dark, and thinking we should still be sleeping.. and then it gets dark at like 5pm, so we think we should be in bed then! And we become lethargic and withdrawn! .. so I think its definitely a common thing!

In my case, it doesn't matter if the day is good or not, if the old brain refuses to cooperate and decided to get foggy, then, I'll get too lazy to do anything and sleep instead! Lol! Whenever I get fogged, I reach for a cup of coffee or anything to eat because that would usually wakes me up but then, most of the time, my brain's against everything I tried to do and kept mumbling "sleep, sleep, sleep" :P

Yesterday was one of those days for me too. I was really feeling quite tired when I first woke up and then it was one of the rough days for me. I wish that there would be no more gray days in our life my friend, but things like this happen and many times the weather is not a help either on how we will feel.

I don't think I like the fog because I do feel sleepy and tired those days. I always com here to mylot but sometimes I feel like not doing anything. In a way, I just log in do nothing when the sky is grey. I don't like grey skies, it makes me feel sleepy and tired and even somewhat sad from sad thoughts.

Haha. Yea, when the grey clouds and fogs went away, I felt alert and energized. Haha its funny how that happens. When its cloudy and I'm with friends/people to hangout with, I feel like I don't care about the weather. When its cloudy and alone, I feel down and sad. When its sunny and with friends, obviously, I feel happy even if I'm alone I'm in a good mood.

The weather is bad here too. It has been raining cats and dogs for the last couple of days followed by strong winds in the evenings. My mood can easily be influenced by the climatic change. When it is raining I tend to be a little lazy and prefer to bury myself in my bed catching up with my reading. My thinking mind suddenly withdraw from wanting to do some thinking in mylot. I can't even string two words together which make it almost impossible to respond to discussions here. I am desirous of responding to friends discussions but when I can't wake my sleeping brain I surrender. So you see I am not always in my best element as I need to coax my brain to make intelligent writing.
