Are you the conservative type?

I know someone who claims that she is conservative. Yet she indulges herself in 'green' jokes and stories. She takes time going to the parlor for pedicure and hair spa.
She claims she hates 'girly' or 'flirty' people. She brands them 'maarte' which refers to being a flirt. But then aren't all girls/women experience being 'girly', 'fussy', and 'flirty' at one point in their lives? I think it does not exclusively mean how one dresses also but in gestures, and movement
I just find it ironic, and sometimes judgmental. 
Sometimes people can have that 'holier than thou' trait, and fail to show what they preach about themselves.

Basically you are talking about a hypocrite. You know, don't do as I do, but do as I say. I do not like people like that either. Girls are always fussy and girly and sometimes flirty, thats being a girl. And you cannot be conservative if you are going to be flamboyant.

I think the problem here is with the understanding of conservative. While being a conservative refers to one's fondness in perserving certain ideas, a conservative person may not necessarily mean an ethical or moral person:
There are people who are conservative only politically and have no moral or ethical sense of conservatism. Most republicans are simply political conservatives.

well, i understand there are what we call conservative political concepts, beliefs and ideas.
i am talking about manners, ethics and morals. it is something about what some people claim that they are traditional, not showy, has a limited or 'controlled' principle, action, or habit.
it is a paradox to see that they contradict what they claim at some points.

You are welcome. However, I simply pointed that claiming to be conservative may simply be referring to political ideas, not necessary moral or ethical values: There is a big difference between moral and ethical conservatives and mere political conservatives.

I have yet to meet a Conservative who isn't a hypocrite and judgmental.
