I Laughed until I cried

I should first tell you that where I live we are really not politically correct. We say it as is is and will have no problem in describing someone as a black /Chinese person or a half Indian will a touch of Syrian. This is not considered disrespectful as it is just describing how a person looks and is acceptable. Regretfully, the country is incredibly homophobic although my family isn't. This attitude is changing but very slowly. So when a friend just phoned and told me the story I howled with laughter. Her neighbour told her about the son of a friend of hers who is under 5 years old, and he likes dressing up in girls clothes. This bothered his father who then took him out one day for some 'male' bonding and ended up buying him a toy gun. It seemed that it gave the father pleasure when he got home to tell his wife that the boy had 'insisted' on getting the toy gun when they went to the shop. The mother was perplexed and asked the father over and over again if he was sure that that was the toy the boy wanted and everytime the father said YES, that's the one he chose. The mother said " Our son, who likes dressing up in girl's clothes? " The father said, with some delight, "Yes." The child then entered the room and the mother asked him if that was the toy he wanted and the boy said " Yes, Mommy, and you know what is great about it? It just fits into my handbag." Now I will probably be trolled and crucified but I still think it funny. be careful when you fire the bullets as I don't move very fast these days. Do you have any funny stories about kids to share?

Nice I don't blame you for getting a giggle out of it. Only along the line of a boy wearing girls clothes. There was a brother & sister a friend of mine babysat. The mother did not keep up on the wash nor even keeping the fridge filled. To say the least the boy messed his clothes (toddler 18mo or so) we could not find any clothes that were his that were clean so we put him in some of his sisters clothes. Everyone thought he was a girl as he had the most curly blonde hair, when we'd take them for walks we'd have to explain his mother did not leave the boy any clean clothes and that was the best we could do was his sisters clothes. I think once she left us money to do the wash for her so the boy looked as he should of.

Oh boy! This story is kid of sad. How long does it take to put a load in the washer? I can sometimes do two loads before I go to work. Doesn't sound a good situation for the little boy

My husband and I decide to keep my firstborn sons hair long when he was a little boy. Eventhough we never had girls clothes on him, he gets mistaken for one all the time. Even now that he is fourteen, he looks better with his hair not too short.

I just hope her kids got a chance in life. Being an abused child I react strongly to neglected children

that is very funny! my god daughter dresses like a boy, moves like a boy. she's an adolescent now and when asked if she can be a maid in a wedding of her cousin, she declined! i asked her why, and she said, "I am not ready yet!" referring to the wearing of a gown.

I was a tomboy until adolescence too. She must be allowed to be who she is in life.

That is really cute! I think my kids are all straight, at least for now. My 5 year old is already planning his wedding! We ran into my twins' kindergarten teacher the other day, and she was asking about all the kids. She knows the 5 year old is in kindergarten now, so she asked him about his teacher and his friends. Well this teacher has a girl in her class named Abigail. Abigail was in my son's preschool class last year, and my son loved her to bits. I had to tell the kindergarten teacher all about how my son told me I had to buy a ring so he could marry Abigail. So my son looks up at the teacher and says "Well, Abigail does not love me back, so I love someone else now". So yes, he's straight.. but boy is he moving a little fast!! LOL

Sweetie, i don't think anyone's story can beat this one of yours. At least the boy made sure it fits into his handbag. Imagine if they had to go out and buy him a bigger handbag.

thats priceless, dearest Cynthie. There is a story from my own childhood I have heard lots of times and treasure. See, I was brought up Catholic, and my aunt, mothers younger sister who lived with us from the time I was about 4, was a teacher of Latin and French. So I was taught a bit of Latin also at an early age for sure. One day they took me to church, must have been no more than 4 or 5, and the Holy Mass was not said in Latin but in German. When Mass was over it was said I turned to my Mom and said; The Priest did not say Accipite et bibite (words of the Consecration, take this cup and drink from it) so it wasnt a real Holy Mass at all!!!!!

Oh that is funny! I am quite 'grown up' so I do remember bits of the Mass in Latin. Are you who I think you are?

hi cynthiann I dont remember the Mass in Latin as I was born in 1962 and after 1965 or so they did the Mass in Germany but there are more similar situations I was told so I know its authentic. LOL

Haha! I wonder what the dad thought about that comment! My son who's 5 has been obsessed about age these days. He keeps asking everybody their age, and telling everybody else! As he is in kindergarten already, he proceeded to ask his teacher how she is. At our last parent-teacher meeting, he kept telling us how old his teacher was! It was a bit awkward.

Aww this one not an original. I have written this one here already but it is the funniest to date for me. My husband took a sip of iced lemmon tea when he was driving. My 7 year old daughter told him, 'Father you should not drink and drive!' I like your story. It will be added to my facebook to cheer people up. I hope you dun mind.
