I have been having a pain in my right shoulder for some time now. It is not constant but when it hurts it R E A L L Y hurts. It feels like at the meeting of the humerus (upper arm bone) and the shoulder itself a nerve is being pinched or the cartilage is no longer there. Either way, sometimes it feels kind of like a spasm and my entire arm stiffens all the way down to my fingers. It's a deep pain and nearly unexplainable. I have insurance and I know this is not normal becaue it has only been happening on and off for about 4 months but should I go see someone about it? I don't want it to be just because I slept wrong or something because my specialist copay is more than I'd like to spend if it's nothing to worry about.
Has anyone else experienced a pain like this? I'm not a pill person because my esophagus (throat) is fairly small and I tend to choke on pills. Aside from that, I am on medication for a peptic ulcer so that's a no-go on pain pills unless they are specifically designed not to aggravate ulcers. I notice that when I'm at work typing or using the mouse, the pain is more frequent and lasts longer.
