Today I went to the local dollar store and bought Halloween decorations. Today sitting at home I desided I also want to do some Halloween decoration projects with my children as well. We have crayons, construction paper, glue, scissors now we need some ideas on what to do. I want my children to make some decorations so I can tape them around the house on the inside, today we did pumpkins. I used orange paper and cut. Out a pumpkin shape then we colored eyes on white paper and glued it to the pumpkin as well as nose and mouth and stem. Then I taped them on the living room wall. Tomorrow we are going to do bats. I want to do a project a day do you have anymore ideas in what we can do? Or make?

I like to cook as a project and sugar cookie cutouts are something that kids absolutely love and they arent extremely hard. Kids love to decorate so do halloween cutouts, they sell the cutout things at Michaels usually. I bought some last year. They also often have fall sprinkles that would go well on them.

Oh yes I love to bake as well and I am definitely doing some of that as well. I bought a funfetti cake that has different Halloween colors in it as well with the orange frosting and sprinkles. Plus I am going to make mudd pie for the children as well with bugs and worms in it that are edible.

Last night we made halloween cup cakes! It was very fun and very yummy! My son keeps asking when I am making the mud pie? It is like a thing I started last year and now they want it every year!

Collect orange coloured leaves and scatter them about on a window sill or mantlepiece. Then, and I'm not sure how, make some mini pumpkins and scatter these around as well. This then looks very good lit up with some LED tealights.

Thats a really cool idea for the inside! I can also keep the leaves til thanksgiving! I have bought pumpkin bags and when more leaves fall I am going to have the children pick them up and fill the bags! This year I will have to put them on my porch because last year when I had them in the yard the dog kept peeing on the bags!

You can also get bat, ghost and spider bags, exactly like the pumpkin ones.

Try making paper spiders and then color them black.

This would be a good one as well. It would be a little challenging for my 6 and 4 year olds to cut out the legs of the spiders but hey it will give them practice. They are going to be thrilled!

Amanda: Thanks for the posting. In fact my other family members also know amanda and her children. blessings. i am now in chennai. It is nice you make decorations instead of buying ready made. I suggest leave it to the creativity of kids. you will find excellent designs.

I am trying to get more ideas because I need about 25 different ideas. My children are the ones doing the activities . My son made a spider web on his pumpkin yesterday which I thought was a great idea!

This is an early preparation for Halloween, I hope this will go well. My suggestion is, why not make a life-size monster like Godzilla or something. I haven't experienced decorating our house during Halloween, maybe this year. Hmmmm can I put then? I don't know! LOL

Yes this is early because I want to so an activity a day for the children to engage in. We already have out Halloween costumes ready to go so I just want to make it fun for the children. I am going to do the same for Christmas. I am even going to take a day gas up the car and drive around the neighborhood to see the decorations from other people as well. I want to make some memories for my children to remember and some great pictures!

That's cool. I am going to make bats either tonight or tomorrow. I want to get the count down orange and black chain done also to so they can start counting down the days, last year I made a mudd pie and the kids want me to make it again this year so that will be another activity. Mudd pie is so easy and good but I think this year I will put it in individual cups for the kids.

If you can find some white felt, cut ghost shapes out of it and hang them. You can add eyes if you want to make it a little more crafty. I have also taken an old sheet and let the kids make ghosts out of them that we could hang up. I wish my kids were still young enough to enjoy things like this.

Wow I really did not even think of that. That is a great idea! For some reason ghosts we're not in my mind when I thought of Halloween. Lol but yes I can definitely do this one. I also have old sheets and I can hang them in door ways. Wow I really feel my lightbulb shining bright

Oh, you have done an excellent job. The children would be so excited with the projects I can sense. I have not started yet, busy with my office work. I will have to start soon. I can see from my window my neighbors are working on the projects already !

I want to make it fun for the children. Plus when I take pictures of the children I can use the decorations as backgrounds for the scrap books I have. I am going to do the same for Christmas. So when you do start feel free to use some of these excellent ideas that people are sharing here. I am going to do one a day. So an activity a day and the same with Christmas! After thanksgiving that it.

As I am too lazy to make my own decorations, I just buy mine. I buy my holloween and Christmas decorations after the holiday so I can get them cheap. Today at lunch I went home to put up one of the inflatable decorations (which I bought for $10 last year) in front of the house. It would be a surprise for the kids when they get home from school. There would be a witch hugging the tree in front!

That's a better way to make Halloween decorations. You hit two things at the same time. Spending quality time with your kids while producing decors that are made from the heart. There are a lot of online sites that suggests some simple crafts connected to Halloween. I bumped into them while doing researched for articles that I am writing about Halloween.

its nice to wear devil's costumes but why is it recommended to wear devil's costume instead of wearing Jesus White Robe during Halloween??? Does God permits us to wear Demon's costume where the most horrific and more bloody is the first place winner, where second placer is the first looser?
