Whenever surfing is done to search for FREEstuff on the Net countless sites surface but hidden somewhere are words such as 'trial' or 'shareware' which only means that none of them are free. What's the point in saying they are free when in fact they are not? Why should they be categorised as 'free'?

I use Linux so most items are really free of charge. Even commercial software normally has an equally good free alternative. The whole concept of trial or shareware doesn't exist. Neither do we see "Free" written everywhere. Yes we sometimes have alpha and beta stage applications, bug fixes, and the basic concept that everything could be made better. But overall, the software is generally fit for the purpose. Everything that can be done on Windows, can be done on Linux for free - except the viruses, worms and trojans are missing!

Well, we can play Windows Games on Linux by using simulator though.. And yes, Linux is more secure and more vulnerable against virus because of several reasons..

Have you ever heard SEO or SEM?I think these websites want to have a high rank in the search engine. As you know, people search for free downloads far more than trail downloads. So,as you can see, they attract visitors by misleading them to the wrong web page.

What is the point really as when visitors find out that the stuff is not free, that too after spending their valuable time to download do you think they will ever go back to those sites? I would not.
