Hey Villains you have an opportunity to attack why wait?

This cliche is common in "magical girl genre anime"(Biggest Example is Sailormoon) and its also a staple in a Japanese Television Genre of Tokukatsu(biggest example are Power Rangers and Masked Rider) In these genre of Japanese live action super hero shows, The hero has like 2 minutes to transform into their hero mode and also make a heroic speech before introducing their name to the Villain.(the funny thing is that the villain already know who the heck they are) Seriously if I'm the villain , I would have attacked that superhero during their cinematic transformation or their super long speech.

LOL Maybe they don't want to attack while the hero is talking cos they don't want to be called sneaky. ;)

xD Too bad they weren't raised not to be a villain huh? But then again... if there weren't villains, there'd be no hero cos there'd be nobody to save! :P

If I can see a new anime title with very aggressive villains who is not patient to wait for the speech to be over , i'll be a fan for life.

I think, when these heroes transform, they are engulf in a magical sort-of-thingie which the villains cannot penetrate. Or probably they enter another dimension when they transform and the villains cannot follow them there.

There are times though they actually transformrightinthe front ofthe villain and the heroisnot transportedin another dimension.LOL but the villain just patiently waited until the transformation is over.

Probably because the villains want a challenging fight instead of a one-sided fight. They can't have a challenging fight if the hero is not in his hero form.

which caused their demised... I think at certain point in Sailormoon, there is a smart monster who attacked Sailormoon during her speech. This monster will always have a place in my heart. I already forgot her name but if I get to remember her name, I will make a fan fiction about her,

It must be a manners things, but yeah, I've noticed it too. I remember in one Sailor Moon episode, the villain watched Sailor Moon transform to learn her secret identity but was later killed in the same episode. There is another thing I know happens in Dragon Ball Z, but no sure where else, is when the heroes wait for the already powerful villain they are fighting to transform into a more powerful form.

I think DBZ is notorious for making the heroes who arenot Goku to just opentheir mouths, shiver and let the villain transform, That makes me hate post cell saga Gohan. We expected him to grow up as a badass but he didnt,.

Haha...that's so true. I also notice that the villains tend to monologue and go on and on about their evilness or their intentions and such. Happens a lot in the shounen series. Sometimes, I just want them to get on with the fight and be done with it. The whole transforming and monologuing is cool the first few times but it gets really old fast. But then again we wouldn't have much of a series if the hero is defeated right off like that.

I would be screaming with Joy if the villain is aggressive enough to attack the hero during the super heroic speech. Usually the villains with the most manners to wait for the speech to be over are from the magical girls genre. The only villains I know who do speeches are team rocket,

I now other anime that have that strange factor too, its Digimon Adventure. When the digidestenied Digimons digivolving it take about 1 minute but the enemy can wait for them to digivolve. Then i thinks there is a possibility that the digivolving sequence just can be seen by us the anime watcher only and in the worlf of the anime maybe they digivolve instantly. But that didn't make sense after they release the movie our war game. In the movie Diaboromon attacking the Digimons when they undergoing digivolve and the digimons easily beaten like that. So it mean the digivolving realy takes time and everyone can see the transform sequence including the enemies. That really become strange indeed, at how the enemies would want to wait them to transform before attacking. ^_^

Wasnt some digimons go back to their normal mode after digivolving, Unlike in pokemon where evolution is permanent? I guess it has something to do with the Japanese being disciplined and respectful.LOL
