We visited with Grandpa Bob in Minnesota

Last night we met Bob and his wife Deb at a Casino and enjoyed eating at the buffet. We were also joined by another Dri Wash n Guard distributor, who has fished some of the same fishing holes as Grandpa Bob. He is quite a talker, and I sort of felt like I did not get as much of a visit in with Bob and Deb as I would have liked. Grandpa Bob still has his account here, an he also checks his notifications, just enjoys Facebook more. It sounds like he had a fantastic garden this year. I hope to visit some other friends from online as we drive on home. Anyone you would like to see?

We may have to see you if we go through to Rhode Island some time. I think Allknowing has a good plan.

Sorry, I was going to mention who I would want to meet, but my son distracted me and I hit the "post comment" link.. Anyway, there are many here I'd love to meet, but so far, no one is even close to me and even if they were, there is no way I can get my husband to allow me to go anywhere unless it is for s good cause. (good cause as in, can I make money or can I buy something we need) but to visit, forget it...

Allknowing, you got yourself a deal..Now I need to work on getting my book published... @Gerty, I am closer to Ohio/Indiana than Rhode Island and you're right it is allknowing's plan is good, though now that I think about it, I would only go by boat, no flying for me..

How cool! I miss Grandpa Bob's posts about his garden and I'm glad to know that he's just busy elsewhere. I've never met anyone from myLot in person, but I've met people from other sites and have yet to be disappointed.

Evidently they had some pretty decent weather where he lives. He said he got maybe 500 apples from his two apple trees. It is always good to see him, and I need to get up to see my daughter more often as well.

500 apples! Wow! I bet he can do alot with all those! I'm probably a day or so drive from him myself and we've had beautiful weather in the 70's here as well. Though a low is going to push thru in knock us down to the 50's by the end of the week...

There are a few I wouldn't mind meeting in person. Actually I have met a number of my online friends. Years ago when I first got on the Internet I frequented a particular chat room, as did my mom. It was easy to make friends. I met one of those friends as she drove through town to bring her son to a local college. We met up a couple different times, and really enjoyed ourselves. Then not too long after that my mom planned a meeting with a bunch of these chat friends in Hershey Park, PA, and she asked me to drive her. She paid for my hotel and tickets to the park, and even a bit of gas. I just had to drive. Then for awhile I got into Pogo. I met a few friends I made there. One couple came to visit at our house one day. Another friend lived in Ottawa, and I went up alone to visit her, then we brought the whole family up, then she came down to visit us a few times. She and I are best friends now, but she moved up to Nova Scotia and we haven't been able to visit since. Most of the people I'd like to meet from Mylot live too far away. The only one that's even remotely close to me that I know of is Opal, she's in NY city, which is about 5 hours from me.. but that's not a day trip and getting a hotel for a family of 7 isn't easy. Hopefully someday. I'm glad you got to visit one of your friends.

I forget exactly where you are, if I knew. Five hours is stretching it a bit for a visit. Sometimes it seems we should meet halfway or something.

OOH.. we should plan a Mylot meet and greet! Someone who's somewhat central to us all with a big house should host it, and we all drive from whereever we are and visit each other! That would be cool!

How wonderful - and yes, there are several Mylot friends that I would like to visit but it is not possible. Two of them I call occasionally just to have a little chat and I so enjoy it.

Oh my I have a long list of Lotters I would love to meet. Some are from all around the US, while others are across the ocean. Oh my, my list could be very long... Therefore, I would love to meet all of my dearest friends from here someday, especially you as having my boyfriends mother not too far from you will be a definite trip to see you someday. I am very happy to hear that you and Grandpa Bob had a wonderful time out, buffet sit downs are always a great treat. I was wondering how Grandpa Bob's garden was going as he gave us a glimpse of what he had started in the Spring. Maybe he will come here sometime soon since you were visiting it might prompt him to drop by myLot sometime soon. Glad to hear that you and your husband had a wonderful time with Grandpa Bob and Deb.

Well, look who's here. And making us jealous again, as usual. My garden was almost a total failure this year. Too hot, too dry.

But of course I wuld check in to your discussions Heather. Had a blast and look forward to each yearly visit from you & Bob. Thanks again. My garden turned out superb this year. I am still making things with my apples and still have a lot left on the trees too. All but my sweet corn turned out in great abundance and taste. Thanks all. ~HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Nope, FB is not really for me either. I joined during a Bzz campaign to post about it. I think my Yahoo e mail list just automatically requested most of my friends if I let it, and I have his e mail. It is always good to see him and I hope to get back that way more often.

Yes, great garden. Our best item was hot peppers, and I am pickling them, or drying them and grinding them and putting them into shakers. I hope your brother enjoys DWG as well. Bob loves to show what it does, so the guy that put the new window in my daughter's house bought a bottle, and some kid at a rest area who could not keep his window clean bought a bottle, so that was a part of our trip as well. I love excuses to meet new people.

If I was independently wealthy you would see me on a permanent vacation, visiting MyLotters. I could do Chicago, an Garden Grove and a few other places. I have hopes of meeting up with someone tomorrow near Columbia, Mo.

That was so neat you getting to meet Grandpa Bob! I talk to him on Facebook some. And he does put pictures of his vegetable out of his garden on there. Nice looking bunch of veggies. AND he also has fruit. He's made lots of jellies. I kidded him about sending me a jar and he would have had I sent my home address. But I didn't really mean for him to send a jar. But he is so nice!

We have been visiting him when we go to Minnesota for a year or so. It is fun. He said he would have brought me pickles but did not think I wanted to walk around the casino with them.

I am in another forum though not as regular thee as I am here. One of my forum friends from the UK visited me and spent a couple of days. I took her around and showed here places that were of interest to her. I cooked her special dishes and we had a swell time together.

I nearly mistake Grandpa Bob for your grandpa at sight of the title of your discussion.I guess Grandpa Bob is one of fishing holes or mylotter when I finish reading discussion,I can't help feeling envy at what mylotters there can visit with each other. It is hard for us to do so.However come to think of it,isn't it pleasant that we have a talk with each other here on mylot?

One of my favorite things about MyLot is the opportunity to visit with friends all over the world. Grandpa Bob is a member of MyLot, but has been less active for a long time. Many of us miss his posts. He lives very near my daughter, so when I travel to see her, I have started visiting with him as well. It would be very nice if we could meet with more MyLot members. I think some from the Philippines have met a time or two.

I'm glad you and Bob still keep in touch. I do miss his posts about his garden and such. I too enjoy facebook, but I still like being here when I can discuss things a bit more freely you could say being under a handle of sorts. Have a safe journey on your way home visiting friends.

Wow, that is wonderful and sounds exciting. I was wondering where was GrandPa Bob. I don't log in as much as I used too. So I didn't know where or what had happened to him. I love his posts about his garden, it is good to know that he had a successful one this year too. So he is enjoying facebook more these days? I wonder if I could befriend him and maybe one day meet him in person. Also you too GardenGerty, but I am on the down side of the U.S.A. and that is a long way from GrandPa Bob.

Chevy, I do not know where you are? I had always thought one place, but if it is some place that is on my route to someplace or close to something I want to visit, I would make time for a visit. I have been out of work for more than a year now, still have unemployment for a few more weeks. I have been doing freelance writing, and learned this week that I will be picking up some product demonstration work. I am still waiting to hear about another contract labor job. We are more southern part of the US, but my daughter lives near Grandpa Bob, so I get to visit him if I get to visit her. I have a couple of guesses of where you might be, but I could be way wrong.

Goodness yes. I would love to run into several people that I have made friends with on here. I understand how you feel about not having enough time. That's the trouble with short visits....there never seems to be enough time. Take care and I am glad you got to visit with someone from here for a while.
