This anime is one of my favorites with Gon and Killua as my favorite characters. I'm happy to watch the remake but I would have been happier if it was not a remake but a continuation of the first anime. It would be nice to watch Gon and Killua as a new story in their lives unfold. ^^
But as I was watching the first episode of the remake, it brought me back to the days when I was really addicted to this anime. Gon is as cute as ever and the story still seemed exciting to me. Or maybe I'm just an anime fanatic. 
Anyway, I think I will watch the succeeding episodes and see how it would differ with the original.

Hi evan! Yes, the characters will still be the same. ^^ I downloaded the episode via torrent and I got the torrent from horriblesubs.org (not a referral link).

is there in anyway that i can watch it online without downloading it.:) becuase im just using my galaxy tab and im just using a postpaid internet connection and i think it can't handle heavy downloading. thanks a lot.:)

Maybe they want to retell the story first before they make a continuation. The original mangaka has passed away after all (from what I've read somewhere).

I love this anime too- I was so addicted to it before and even bought dvds of it. I would be happy to watch a remake. I hope they still keep the drawings though, I loved how their characters looked like.

As of now, the characters are still the same age with the original. I'm not sure if after the series, they will make a continuation. I hope so.

I heard that the said anime will have a remake but I did not know that it is already out. I am also a fan of the anime and is still watching the previous version repeatedly until now. I'm really intrigue by this remake... how different is it gonna be from the previous version? Will Gon be able to see his father? I hope the character of the Joker, Hisuka, will remain as he is from the previous version, kinda like his personality. Can't wait to see this remake version...

I am also not sure if they are going to make major changes in the story but perhaps not since this is just a remake. But who knows, they might find it in their heart to allow Gon find his father.

Their faces will still be the same. Gon's face is still the same, even his outfit as well as Leorio and Kurapika who were also in the first episode. Killua will still be the same, too, he was shown in the opening credits. Even Mio, Gon's auntie (?) looked the same. Oh, and Hisoka, too looked the same, he was shown, too in the opening credits.

yeah,there are remade stories that they sometimes changed the characters. i hope the face of Gon will still be the same cause he's really cute, and Killua's cool-outside attitude but deep inside he kills.

How true is that? I'm also a fan of HXH way back 2001-02 episodes were aired on GMA7 around 6pm I was senior high school those days. I really love those times that I was still in high school no problems to worry and just be happy in school and friends. Back to the topic I was kind of disappointed of the ending of HXH. I hope the remake would be more better.

It's very true. There are already two episodes. I also hope that after they have finished the remake of the original episodes, they will provide episodes which are continuation for the original series.

Hunter x Hunter is my favorite too.
For the remake, its still fine for me except the design for some character who differ than the first anime.
Some of them are killua & kurapika (looks more childish), hanzo (the eyebrow ^^), and beans (head color).
Other than that its still good..

The remake is much like the same as the original. Actually, if you are going to compare manga and anime, the one that followed the manga (original) is the remake, not the first anime. One example, 1st anime, Leorio was fallen trap by Tonba in the cave and he was hallucinating his friend and was saved by his 3 friends. But in manga, Leorio really did not hallucinate or drink Tonba's offer nor did he was saved by his 3 friends, and this is what the remake anime presented. Logically, the remake is following what the manga offers. I'm following it now and the manga as well. Love the story.

I hope its a continuation and they make them teens and adults already cos a boy like Killua killing people is not trendy anymore, murderous little girls who screams Kawaii! are more marketable than murderous boys. I was upset with the ending of this anime, so it should be a continuation. darn it.
There are certain points in this series that I rooted for the villains more,
I hated Kurapika when he killed Pakunoda, I dont know why I get emotionally attached with this character......I dont know why, she have a big future ahead of her, killing her is a crime to humanity,.

It won't be a continuation that's for sure. There are already two episodes out and Gon, Kurapika and Leorio are breezing through the hunter exam just like before. What we are not sure if they will continue with the ending or they will also end the remake like the original.

I saw the remake intro, I noticed their facial features are much more feminine and smaller, It seemed like the remake might be more kid friendly than the very dark original. Kurapika'shair is shorter, Leoryo is still pathetic, he is the oldest and he is at the bottom of the totem pole.
