Rectifiers from transistor..!??

transistor - transistor circuits are very interesting and they actually reduce the size and cost

hello everyone..! you might be knowing that rectifier circuit includes transformer, diodes, and in some case capacitors as filters. The circuit is not too simple; I mean cost also.. instead of using transformer it might be possible to use a capacitor in parallel with a resistor, which reduce the size and cost considerably. my question is, will it be possible to use a single transistor in place of four diodes.., as transistor with a combination of 2 diodes..

Hi, I have not yet tried this kind of circuitry before but they say it is possible. I'm into electronic stuff too but some circuit are somehow considered dangerous to use. That is why I usually go for expensive but durable circuits especially where power is concerned. Anyway, read this here.
