It doesn't matter whether it is inconvenient to bring my own bag to the grocery, his important is our own little way of respecting our environment. Plastics are anywhere, it has a lot of uses, but some unfortunate events, it has been thrown everywhere, making it a headache when rainy season comes. Flooding in the street can be attributed to clogged sewage alongside these plastic materials. I just can imagine how the world would be when everyone would bring his own bag to grocery?

I think it is important for all of us to do our bit for the environment. In India now there is a law that states that if you go to the super malls, you do not get the plastic bags for free. There is a charge of Re. 1, 2 or 5 on different sizes of plastic bags. Now due to this, people are slowly starting to bring their own bags into the malls, instead of using the plastic bags. Cheers! Some people bring old plastic bags. But some have shifted to jute bags. So this is a healthy trend. Cheers! ram

Eco bags are very rampant now. Groceries and other establishments sell these eco bags and they encourage people to use it. There's a chain of supermarkets here in the Philippines who give you loyalty points for buying and reusing their eco bag. They also have the program "My Own Bag Wednesday" wherein they don't use plastic bags for groceries. You should bring your own bag for the stuff that you'll buy else they'll use paper bags or buy the plastic bags. There are grocery stores that put your groceries inside a corrugated box. The ones that contained the items they sell when the items were shipped to their store. It's a great effort and waste management for the store.

Yes. That's right. Here in our city supermarkets don't use plastics for our groceries only paper bag. At first its kinda hard for us because its hard to carry but we're used to it so every time I go out to a supermarket or grocery store I always bring my own bag so that even in this simple way, I was able to save the planet. :D

really a good decision taken by many government around the world. Plastic is the major cause for soil pollution and soil erosion. It causes many fancies to the environment. We people never case about the side effects and we won dispose it properly. Because of This government act people won through plastic bags and they will start collecting it and reuse it again and again. This will reduce the number of plastic bags and it will be a good sign to rate our environment. Government should encourage using paper bags and slowly people should start to forget using plastic bags.

I agree with what you are saying but I wish it were not necessary. I get the creeps thinking of all those cloth bags that I bet a lot of people don't wash regularly...maybe I am wrong and everyonne keeps their cloth bags clean and laundered?? I hope so.. We forget there are bacteria everywhere. This point was driven home to me when I saw a special about how dirty purses were. Who would have thought ?? but it makes sense. Now I am careful to wipe down my purses and I will use the cloth bags but will wash them frequently.

Yeah we should bring our own bag when going to the grocery or when buying anything because it help a lot in saving our environment. We have practice using it rather than plastic that cause flood during heavy rain.
