I love to visit tropical islands in the world. I find being on the white sandy beach really relaxing and enjoyable. I adore snorkeling around a coral reef. When it is cold, windy and wet day in my home country I dream of visiting a gorgeous tropical island. I went to the Seychelles in 2004, to the Maldives in 2005 and to Belize in 2006. Earlier this year I visited the North Coast of Colombia. Do you like visiting tropical islands? Which ones have you been to or want to go to?

Visiting tropical islands is such a treat for people living in cold climates. My perfect tropical island is Bali and Nusa Tenggara i.e. the other Indonesian islands east of Bali. This part of Indonesia can best be visited from June to September, the dry season. I went to Zanzibar and expected to find a magical island, but I was disappointed, the beaches were not very special nor was the countryside. Cuba was great (in December / January)so was the Dominican Republic. I went to other tropical places but they were rather countries than islands, such as Singapore, Malaysia, India and Brunei. A tropical island I would love to visit is Vanuata, but I think this will remain a dream.

I visited Kenya and everyone was saying how magical Zanzibar Island is. It was a shame you found it disappointing there. I am delighted that you really enjoyed Cuba and the Dominican Republic. I have visited Sumatra and am keen to visit Bali one day in the future. I saw the Gilli Islands on a travel documentary and thought wow. There is something very special about visiting a tropical island when it is winter at home. Indonesia can have cheap prices and is so interesting. Yes, the dry season is the best time to visit.

I agree with you. Now I like to have a trip to the beach much more. It is very relaxing and the beautiful natural views make you feel like living in the heaven. It is very lucky for the people who live close to the beach and they have more fun. Besides, I am a person who is afraid of the cold weather. So the tropical islands really fit me because there will not be winter there. I love China

I live in the Philippines and we are an archipelago in the tropics. Our beaches are flocked by tourists from all over the world. I feel so fortunate to be living in a country many people would like to go on vacation to, so I promised myself I'd go around the Philippines first before even thinking about going to other countries. May I recommend some good places to go to? Panglao Beach in the island of Bohol, Philippines Coron in Palawan, Philippines and of course, the famed Boracay island. Hope you will all have the chance to visit my country someday!

The seychelles is one of my dream places to visit for a beach trip and to do snorkelling! I hope one day I can make it there and also the Maldives but, I think I would rather do the Seychelles first.

The nearest tropical islands for me are the islands at the Caribbean. I have been to Aruba, to Puerto Rico and to the San Blas Islands (Kunayala). I would like to visit other islands there, but air tickets are a lot more expensive, so I have always left them for another time.

I am fortunate enough to be born in a country in the tropics... And I am even more lucky to have 7,100 islands to choose from to visit if I want to relax and be happy. But it seems I cannot get enough of it. I love the tropical islands so much that I want to explore as many as I could.I only have been to some in my country and some abroad. I was lucky enough to see the tropical islands of Kota Kinabalu, Phuket and Phi Phi island. But I want more. I would like to go to Bali, Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Bahamas, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba, Turks and Caicos, Barbados, Vanauatu, Fiji, New Caledonia and many more...

Hi maximax, I agree with you ! The weather is great all round the year so one need not bother about the time factor and there is plenty to do there. We visited Andaman and Nicober islands in the Bay of Bengal a couple of years ago and it is unbelievably beautiful...I am planning to go there again since we could not visit many places and islands there - there are 39 islands which one could visit and there are nearly 500 more , with such thick vegetation that it is impossible to set foot on it ...

Good evening againd dear friend , i am currently living in Central Europe ( Belgium ) , and before moving in Belgium , five years ago i used to live in Roumania ( Eastern Europe ) , and as Belgium has a beach side , its still the NORTH SEA , so i wont advise anyone to have a bath in it , can't even bronze , since it rains most of the times , and even in the sunny days ( wich were extremly rare in Belgium ) , its was more safer to have an umbrella allong .As for the time when i used to live in Roumania , it was a one hundred percent change of view and climate , in Roumania , we have the Black Sea , wich its really worth the while to visit , the beaches are extremly full of hot girl teenning on the sandy beach , but what i've never got the chances to go , is in a tropical place that you talk about , going to visit Madagascar in a few years and i'm a bit excited , but the really phantasy place for me , would be to visit so awsome islands from the coasts of Mexic , i've had a friend whom went there , and when he camed back , showed me some terrbile pictures , with incredibile OCEAN VIEW, photos that compelled me to want so badly to go and visit those place too , but untill then , i still got a few years of hard work and savings to do ( hehehe , thinking positive lol ) Have a great evening , dear Maximax8
