I had to have four teeth pulled today and I realized just exactly why I do not like the dentist. The shots hurt and you feel bad after leaving from having any work done. I am glad that I had the work done, but I sure have not felt like doing anything since I got home. Do you like to go to the dentist?

Even cleanings hurt me, so no I don't like to go. I think I read once that they're the most depressed Drs. because nobody likes them. Yet without them, we'd be in much more pain and it wouldn't be temporary either.

I don't like those picks either. They can be very painful.

I hate the metal picks they use for cleaning, I have a new hygenist that uses a water pick, its so much less painful!

I honestly do not like to go to the dentists. However, we need them (: to take care of our teeth. I do not like the idea of the shots, tooth cleaning, filling or pulling. It scares the hell of me. Some dentists just don't care of whether his patient is in pain or not.

I guess I'm lucky to have a good dentist. Only the shots hurt. This suddenly reminds me I need to see him again soon.

I do not mind too much, but have not gone in a while. I hate the bitewings for x rays, they always hurt my mouth.

I don't blame you at all. I think you deserve to do nothing after having four teeth pulled. I don't like dentists either, never have and never will.

Yeah, right! I wouldn't want to do anything after having one tooth extracted. Imagine four! I think that would leave a person really weakened.

It did cause me to be tired and now that I can't take the pain pills I am really feeling sore from this.

I know what you mean. I like going when I can get rid of a tooth that is aching me, but I hate the numbness when I leave.

I didn't stay numb for long as so it really didn't matter. I believe that the toothache pain is great to be rid of.

I have no problems with dentists or doctors. Just because I think they will bring to me a good health instead of pain instant. Try the best to overcome the pain and hurt

I don't like going to the dentist, but after having no cavities all my life, then waiting six years before going again, I now go every six months. Because when I finally went I had four cavities. The bill was enormous. With no dental insurance I came to the conclusion that I'd rather pay a high bill every six months for a cleaning than a huge bill for worse things down the road.

Did they offer you the "laughing gas"? It can sedate you to where you feel more comfortable.

You are right that it is worth paying for the six months work than to have a larger bill later. No, I had 6 shots of novacaine, but no laughing gas!

The last time I went to the dentist was when I was just a primary school student after that I never been to dentist to have my teeth check. Although I am aware that there are shots that are not painful, I still want to believe that it is painful. Whenever i have a tooth that is aching, I only drink pain reliever and I bear the pain. Every year I have a tooth ache and it is not a good idea to have that as the pain control my decision. Instead of doing my job, I am there on the side lying or sitting until the pain is relieved. I have to visit a dentist anytime this year.

I would advise you to go see a dentist, even though it is a rough experience at times. I know that it can be a lot more painful if you go without seeing one for a while.

I do not mind going to the dentist....but I have had just regular check up and fillings. If I had to have 4 teeth pulled or a root canal, I wouldn't like him either. I hope you are not in to much pain. Feel better.

I have to because I am suffering from TMJ and my dentist is working on some kind of alignment bridge cap for my teeth. I used to hate dentist because I am afraid to have my tooth extracted by then my TMJ got worse and I paid for not regularly visiting a dentist. I am really sorry for myself!

Oh! I don't simply believe in my eyes,Having four teeth pulled!I have once seen a dentist, when decayed tooth gave me toothache, but I had my two bad teeth pulled out without the dentist's help.I frequently swayed them ,day by day they were extracted with little effort.Strange as it may sound ,but it was true, believe it or not.

A dentist is like a pair of shoes! You can't just grab any pair and go for a walk, they should fit right, feel good and not kill you! Today you can actually a make an interview appointment with the dentist, or speak with the receptionist about how he/she is as a dentist. If they are not forth coming then move on. My dentist just retired, the dentist that took over is okay, I am not use to him yet but he did wonders for my small child when she broke her two front teeth and he built up a new teeth for her. Remember shoes :)

I definitely hate to see the dentist on my opinion. But I have to take care of my teeth. Somehow, I think my dentist trying to rip me off, and encourage to do this and that. After it, my insurance won't pay this and that. I just want to switch to another dentist, and avoid those unnecessary bills.
