Which insect/animal scare you the most?

We all have one insect or animal we really are scared of, be it big or really tiny one, it scare the heck out of us. Since I was a child, I started being afraid on cockroaches. I tried to overcome it when I was in college by trying to kill an upside down cockroach by putting over a dustpan on it. But I look funny to other people seeing me how it took a lot of time putting the dead roaches on the trash. Some who know it, even tried to scare me with a dead cockroach on her hand running after me. That was really scary and embarrassing at the same time. Until now I scream at the sight of roaches. I really wanted to overcome it but giving me roaches wont help at all. Mum once tried to put one dead roach on my arms and I swear I nearly had a heart attack, screamed so loud, locked myself in the room, screaming and crying coz I was still imagining how it feels on my arms and as if seeing it still lying on my arms.. dad got so nervous and got angry with mum telling her never to do it again... I feel shy about it coz people might see me overreacting on such a small piece of insect (sometimes already dead roaches) Do you have such kind of experience and insects/animals you really fear? I envy people who aren't scared of anything.

Hahahaha...crocodiles are always scary. So everyone stays away from them. We all view crocodiles from a distance as we are well aware that one crocodile can snap dear life from anyone of us at anytime.

Oh, i hate to see those cockroaches flying, too. They always land on some persons when they are doing that. It is their mating season for the month, I was told once they are into such things. But, I came across one good information from out of it, though. The mating season of the cockroaches coincides with the time when fishermen are able to have manifold catch of fishes in the oceans. So the best time to buy a good amount of fish from the marketplace will be the day following that night when the cockroaches are flying all over the house.

I don't think that I have fear of some insects or animals. However, I have developed within me that awareness and thus getting cautious at all times, about some which maybe harmful to man. Like centipedes, that type of vermin the shrew, ta take care to stay away from the back of horses, to be wary of some dogs since they bite and give us rabies, some snakes as they have venom, big snakes as they will eat us alive and whole, constrictor snakes as they will kill us by stangling...many more. Others laugh at somebody who fear insects which are unfounded. But, there are some people who are even worse who suffer from phobias of sorts. All of us have some sort of fear. I may not be aware of mine yet. I hope not to be able to unearth them if ever there are. I find it good the way I am now. It feels more comfortable to lead a life without having to live with some unfounded fears for things or whatnots.

I wish to have a comfortable life too without fear of roaches. I simply can't imagine if I already have a baby and still afraid of roaches. How will I take care of the baby if I can't overcome this crazy fear =(

I'm not scared of cockroaches, I hate them. I could swat it with a broom but not my slippers. Knowing that cockroach is one of the filthiest insect carrying a lot of germs, I find this insect gross that's why I can't swat it using my own slippers. I don't want to spread the germs. Hehe! =D Rats and reptiles give me the creeps. I remember holding a baby crocodile and huge snake once just to try to overcome my fear. It felt like all the hair on my body was standing on end. It felt yucky, I can't explain it.

Remembering the feeling makes the hair on my nape stand on end. It's something that I am proud of but will never do it again. It works my imagination to thinking how reptiles could kill or eat a person. Creepy, scary and disgusting. Maybe you could carry around a roach spray so if you see one, spray it directly to the cockroach and walah! You get to kill one without swatting! =D

Hahaha! Smart thinking, hide in the room first and come out when the coast is clear. Very clever there enelym001. =D What if you're alone in your house and you see a cockroach? What would you do? =D

Good that you can swat it with a broom... I can't even do that. I'd call someone to do kill it for me. I am not thinking of germs or its smell, I think it's just that I am really afraid of it that;s why can;t even kill it with anything. But at least you have already hold a baby crocodile and a huge snake. You can proudly tell people that even if it gives you the creep, you have managed to hold it.

i am afraid of earthworms. ever since i was a child i have been very afraid of this slimy creature that is why i don't like to do a lot of gardening because every time i dig into the ground soil i always find big slimy earthworms. they give me the creeps. i have been trying very hard to get over my fear by not running away every time i see an earthworm. i try to observe how it moves and just allow it to come closer to me but i cant bear to have it come very close... i start to scream and run as soon as it gets only inches away from me!!!

That's kinda like how I react when I see roaches. I am not afraid of earthworms as I know they can't even come closer to me like how roaches can by simply fying and crawling so fast. As a child we even played with earthworms =)

i also am afraid of cockcroaches. it started when i was in highschool. i never felt frightened from it before but there was this incident that the cockcroach really crawl from my lower leg upto my thigh. i really screamed and stomped my feet and dropped it. i even almost dropped and removed my skirt just to be sure it's not there anymore, but i was in school at that time. i was so traumatized by that and it did not happened ones. until now, eventhough it is still so far from me, i can really identify it, and i will surely call someone to kill it, and after that someone kill it i will also step on it just to be sure. im cruel to roaches caus they scare me.LOL

you also made me remember a similar incident when i was still in college.LOL i had this pair of sneakers which was slightly worn out but i still used it that time cause it's my favorite, and i always put it under my cabinet. one time i was changing for school, i grab my sneakers under the cabinet, i put my right foot first and was ready to tie the shoelaces when i felt something was moving under my foot. the first thing that popped into my mind were cockroaches! so i immediately removed my foot from the shoe and jumped onto my bed, and there it was, the cockcroach just went out from my shoe. from then on until now before i wear a shoe, i see to it that no any cockcroach is inside it.LOL

roaches are really scary. even if it does nothing to us it looks so creepy. good thing in this place there were only very very tiny roaches... it is very rare that i see big roaches here. but in our country, roaches are the things that I have in mind when I am going back.... and it scares me to think about dealing with roaches again.

I hate worms, especially earth worms. It's so yucky when they are cut into pieces and they still move. I started to hate worms when I was about to eat a fruit and when I opened it, there was a worm inside. I can handle rats, cockroaches, flies and other insects but not worms. Whenever I see one, I feel like the hair at my back and all over my body will stand up

I was away from home but anyway mum told me about it... that there were some instances they saw snakes in our backyard. And then inside our house, they have found some tiny things that looks like baby snakes... Sometimes when they are lying in the bed... they will hear some sounds up in the ceiling... That house is not our own, we have rented it for I guess 4 years, but I have only lived one year. There was big empty and grassy lot behind our house, I guess the snakes are living there. And one year after we left that place, I saw in neighbor's facebook that she posted a photo of a big, long snake they found in their house. They also believe that the previous one we rented have snakes inside since there's no one who have ever shifted again there when we moved out.

Animal? I'm scared of rats. there was a time that saw one rat at our home, it was so big. I think it is an 8-inch rat. When I saw it I even went up our dining table and kept silent, thinking that it will run after me. I will never ever forget that in my life.

I hate spiders. I guess it has something to do with my older brothers teasing me when I was a baby by throwing spiders at me, be it a toy or a live one. I live in a tropical country so you can expect a lot of spiders here. They aren't poisonous though but the size gives me the creeps. They can grow as big as my hand and it becomes a real issue for me when one lurks in the bathroom. I would have to ask someone to kill it first before I can use the bathroom and when no one is around I would have to arm myself with insect spray and try to kill it.

I have thought about your question, and I believe that I'm not afraid of any insect or animal that is not likely to try to harm me. The sting of a wasp is painful and causes extreme swelling, should I get stung. However, I don't panic if one flies around me. I just try to shoo him back to where he should be. As a child, I was deathly afraid of the bull. Now, I can ignore him unless he appears to be angry. Should a roach fly at me, I might appear to be frightened of it, but I would only be startled. Then I would be angry , because roaches don't belong in my house. Out would come all the roach killing equipment. I'm not afraid of the roaches; I'm afraid of the diseases they might be carrying.

Cockroaches don't bother me. But spiders...! BLECH! I am terrified of them. I'm so bad, I can't even touch the stupid plastic rings people wear at Halloween. And those big glossy pics you see? Horrors~!! I'm not kidding. If I'm turning a page and my fingers touch a pic of one, I feel like they're crawling all over me and I have to scrub my hands and arms. Usually till they're raw. Forcing yourself to touch them only makes it worse. I know. When you start thinking about it, do something you enjoy. Do anything that distracts you from it. The more you think about it, the worse it gets. I speak from experience. Distraction will do more for you than anything else at lessening your fear. As far as people picking on me about it, they used to quite a bit. Until I got mean. Now I'm just as likely to throw it back at them or shove it down their shirt. (Then I go in the bathroom and have the heebie-jeebies and scrub my skin till it's raw) I can't stand those horrors. And no, I WON'T go see any arachnid movies!! Fly-swatters are a godsend too. Wonderful little long distance smashers. I can't bear the thought of touching those things, so I have fly-swatters in every room. Show up in my house, will ya!! SPLAT!!! Nifty little inventions. Distance, yet still effective. Outside, you'd be surprised at how effective some perfumes are on spiders. Timeless perfume, for instance, does wonders on garden spiders. (Hey, I couldn't find anything else quick!) Household cleaners don't seem to do as well. they keep walking away! Even hornet spray doesn't kill them very quickly. Fly-swatter or Timeless. Quick and certain.
