You wanna see one of the ugliest looking bugs ever? Look at this picture of the Camelback Cricket or the Rhaphidophoridae. Where I used to live they used to have these all over the place - especially on the cement porch after watering the lawn or after a heavy rain. I think the worst thing about them is that they can and do jump very high and since they are almost blind they jump towards any motion they sense. So if you're walking past they will jump at you. How would you like one of these terrors jumping at you? Have you ever seen one of these? You definitely wouldn't forget it if you did. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

I believe this is what my grandma has in her basement. I looked at some pictures of them and they look alike. They get inside the house and jump around and when I lived there they got on my blankets. I would walk through the house and I would see on e in a corner. I hated them and they annoyed the Sh!t out of me. lol

They are annoying, you're right. Ewww!!! They got on your blankets? I can't imagine that! I think that is way worse than them jumping on me when I went to the bathroom. Thanks for your comment, have a great day!!

I couldn't stand it. They would jump all over the place so I grabbed a fly swat and when they would in the air I would slap them as hard as I could. LOL It was so funny.

That is one ugly bug. I don't like anything that jumps at me....or lands on me. I have never like crickets though in the last few years I have seen very few of them. I used to have them in the basement.....not anymore!

I don't like any kind of bug that jumps either. It's so hard to predict where they are going to land. Did you have the camelback cricket or the regular, ordinary type of cricket that chirps? The cambelback doesn't make any noise except for when they land on something and you hear the little thud of their thick body hit the ground or a box, etc. that they land on... Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

I do not like any thing jumping towards me. I had a wasp in my hair this evening. Hubby went outside earlier and a "grasshopper on steroids" hit him on the side of the head. Our black cat, his "girlfriend" chased it down. Ugly bugs!!!!!

Oh wow! A wasp flew into your hair?!? That would have freaked me out for sure! I hope you didn't get stung. I've had a grasshopper fly into my side before, they can make quite a thud when they hit you. And I never heard of a lady bug being good luck before. That's good to know! Thanks for your comments, have a great day!!!

Blue Dasher (female) - Dragonflies are incredibly varied, just as butterflies are. I think they are beautiful.
I don't think it's ugly at all. Actually, compared to some other really interesting bugs it's pretty ordinary. Some bugs that sting and hurt are a bit scary and I hate everything about cockroaches but otherwise, I reckon bugs are pretty cool...especially dragonflies and butterflies.

I really don't care for bugs myself and this creature you have mentioned here is downright disgusting. I can't imagine living in an area where those things are and just spraying raid EVERYWHERE I even thought they might be!

That look quite awful but I'm sure they have a wonderful personality. Then again, I rarely have seen a bug that has looked rather good looking to say the very least. All of them really do seem like quite the ugly sorts to say the very least. It does make us rather horrified to even look at them. Especially the way these bugs move. Yet looking at these bugs, they do seem to make other bugs look rather presentable. Then again, I am certain that insects thing we look rather ugly. With our fleshy skin, our hair, and our two eyes to say the very least. In addition to our tendency to step on their friends. I'm sure that really does tend to freak bugs out beyond anything that they would ever believe. So it is a mutual thing. They think that they are as ugly as we think they are. It is just really that simple when you think about it. Still an ugly looking thing regardless.
