Shopping on Sale!

I just finished shopping because there was a big sale here. Most of the items which I bought were for my children. Clothes and shoes were marked down and there was an additional 10% discount for the 1st 2 hours on the 1st day of the sale if you got an advantage card. I took advantage of the additional 10% so I made sure I had a companion to help me on the queue. Certainly, there were long lines on the cashier. The technique there is to reserve the item a day before and just pay the next day. Or at least have somebody to be on the line and you can find other items that you need. Be careful though that you might get items that you do not actually need because you got enticed by the discount. If only I got a lot of money I can buy more. There were shoes for children which got 70% off plus another 10% discount. Whew quite a long day for me. Do you also take advantage of sales on your malls when you go shopping?

Hi rajaiv! I love shopping during sales! Although it's very inconvenient because there's too many people, I just try to be patient because of the big discounts on sale items. I usually go shopping when there's a sale on clothes. I also shop during Christmas sales when I buy Christmas gifts. I am also careful not to buy items that I do not need. I don't let myself get tempted by the big discounts but I think I have been tempted once or twice. You just really can't ignore those big discounts.

Rajaiv, since I am single, most of the stuffs I shop for are for myself so I usually shop for clothes during sales. Myfb, I'm waiting for the Christmas sales, too! I haven't started shopping and I'm feeling the pressure already because I have lots of people to give gifts to.

Sometimes we can't avoid being tempted hehe. That is true that shopping for clothes with big discounts is worth the hassle anyway. Last sale I also bought clothes for them and pants. Now it is more on pajamas and shoes. I try to check first what I need and list them down so I can avoid buying things that I do not need in the first place.

Secret, same like you, i ever get tempted to buy some of the unwanted items during sales due to the big discounts being available at that moment. Now, same like you, i am waiting for the Christmas sales to arrive, to do another big shopping spree for gifts.

Yeah I think when there is a sale, everyone really comes rushing to the malls and check if there is something that they like that is on sale. When there's a sale, I make it a point to check out what they have put on sale and if it's worth it. But if I think that the item is still too expensive even though it is already on sale, I won't buy it. There are some items that is on sale but the price is still too high.

I agree with you too. Not all on sale would become a bargain after, especially if it has a higher base price. Even I would not instantly buy it. My though would always be "if it is still expensive, then it is not for me."

YES, I take advantage of sales! i love shopping. but if the item that i like is pricey, i save up for it or wait for the big sale. i'll get the same product at a lower price. i usually shop with a friend or my sister because like you, if there a long queue at the cashier, either me or my companion will line up so we can maximize our time, and shop more!

It is better definitely to buy expensive things during sale. Even if it will not have a big discount 10% would already have an impact because of its high price. For my children's clothes I would usually wait up for sale. For things I would like to buy for myself especially bags I would also wait for the sale.

Although there is a big sale, I will not buy anything that I did not need. I prefer to save my money. Because, I do not have much money to spend.

It is very important to spend wisely. I only take advantage of the sale for my needs too. Like clothes for children and shoes. Right now things for children could make you go crazy for the price. Thank God for the sales I can buy them good clothes in a big discount.

OH I do take advantage of sales on malls whenever I go shopping. I find it very practical even if it is very hard to stand on the long line on the cashier and wait for your turn but at least you got what you need with a discounted price. Nice discussion you started here. You may visit www.lifo.com and check out the latest in beauty and fashion and who knows, you may find a new friend who loves to take advantage of sales in the malls.

Hi Rajaiv, i always prefer to shop my clothes and household use items during sales. At least, i am able to get my needed items at a discounted price for them. I always get mine and my family clothes during the shopping malls having sales promotion. So far, in my area here, we are not allow to reserve any sales item. The item will be grab by who comes first he is eligible to grab it basis. so the tactic is, always reach earlier to the shopping malls before they open their business grills.

I usually buy from sales online because I find deals that I want. I usually only buy if it's a sale.

I appreciate you took someone to be there at the cash queue. In India it is festive time, Diwali - the festival of lights - is celebrated through out the country and people do buy a lot of new stuffs for themselves as well as for their home. This year it falls on 26th of this month. This season also offers a lot of discount and freebie on branded products too. This is peak season so everyone try to get best deals and discounts. Yes, i too plan to go for shopping but I would go myself a day in advance for window shopping so I can get a fair idea about the new arrivals, sale and seasonal discounts, and then purchase it with the family...

That sounds great! One time I went to NY&Co. and it was an extra 20% off things that were already 60% off. Plus, I opened a Rewards card (not a credit card), and then I got an extra 15% off. I saved a lot that day, but I also bought a ton of stuff :P
