COmmittee control and discipline UEFA had sent the punishment after meeting in thursday FA maybe had to appeal but if their appeal is denied, so Capello must think smart because rooney can`t play in 3 matches in europe cup in 2012... whats happen for you rooney??

I think Rooney has always been a very excitable character. In the match against Montenegro he had the red mist moment and lost control of himself. He deserved the red card for kicking out on the player. It definitely cost England 2 points, but still they managed to qualify for the Euros. Cheers! Ram

yes, england still qualify for euro cup 2012...but without rooney in two early matches in euro cup, it can make difficulity for capello.. he must search another forward who had same quality with rooney

I think he will definitely miss out the first two matches and there is also a likelihood he might miss the third as well. This was the reason why Sir Alex did not put in the starting XI against Liverpool yesterday. He felt that Rooney was very much down due to this and was not mentally ready for the big game against Liverpool. Cheers! Ram

Rooney has had some troubles in the family with his father and brother and maybe this made him more excited and nervous as he usually is. I haven't seen the game nor the foul he made, but I guess he had to do some heavy tackle or something if he was punished with 3 match suspension.

I don't know what to answer to this, but maybe he wanted to play, he maybe thought that playing will make him not to think about the family problems he had. And it is not necessary that that was the reason for why he did that, he has maybe lost his temper for a moment and did a stupid thing.

adhyz82, I don't think it is bad news considering this is at qualifier stage and Rooney should be punished for his misconduct. Such misconduct should never be tolerated and let off especially when it can very costly to the team. Here's just an equalizer but let's not forget the Beckham incident during the previous World Cup tournament (88) which cost England from progressing in the tournament.

Never trust whatever u see and hear in soccer. A red card and sending off doesn't mean anything because it might be ploy to rest rooney for the big stage when Euro2012 starts. As u know, Euro2012 starts at the end of EPL season and that's where england usually flops in international stage due to fatigue. IF rooney can be rested with valid reasons, he shall be unleashed as the tournament progress, in the hope of bringing england further.

red card is red card and it means anything for any team...you understand how the influence rooney for England... i give the example when rooney become a "idiot" in world cup 2010 and make england play very poorly.. thats show us how england is so depends with rooney
