I just unpacked an electric wok that I had purchased a few years ago. I think I used it a few times for stir fry veggies and decided it was just as easy to use a plan ole frying pan. and so I packed it away. Now since I cam across it again, I wonder if there are some meals I am missing that work best in a wok and I wonder how many actually use an electric wok for cooking? and if you have any suggestions for me. TY Also I saw something about deep frying in a wok..I rarely deep fry anything because it isn't healthy, but ever once in a while I think I would ...

Never use electric wok before, except fire stove wok. Using wok to cook oriental food require continual intense propane heat to bring out the favor and aroma. Electric wok can't get the job done as well as conventional wok.

I think you might be a better cook than I am... I even use a frying pan for stir fry until I unpacked my wok.

Wok is good for stir fry recipes and deep frying. I have a recipe that is easy and you can make use of your electric wok. Here's the recipe ingredients: pork, remove skin, olive oil, carrots, slice thinly, broccoli flowers, young corn, onions slices, garlic, minced, oyster sauce, water, salt to taste procedure: stir fry pork until brown and tender. Saute garlic and onions, then add the vegetables and oyster sauce. Add water ,salt to taste. Stir fry until sauce thicken. Serve on top of rice in a bowl. Happy eating!

Thank you that sounds yummy..except the corn lol. I have 'a thing' against putting corn into dishes...I like my corn fresh on the cob and buttered or did mean those little corn cobs... LOL forgive me I am not a great cook...

Hi stary1, I haven't used an electric wok before. I always prepare dishes by frying or deep frying, or stir-fried or steam using the stainless steel wok. It's placed on a gas stove when doing the cooking. Having a wok is really convenient and easy in cooking asian type dishes. I think the electric wok has the same purpose as the traditional one if the size of wok heat is adjustable, for raging fire is needed when doing stir-fried vegetables or other dishes. I think the advantage for using electric wok is easy to clean. Unlike mine the bottom of wok will be burnt black gradually after using it for some time. And I have to spare time to get rid of it regularly Yeah, I dislike to serve my family with unhealthy deep fried dishes as well. I do more steamed food as they are healthy and nutritious Happy posting
