Dan Wheldon Killed

Indy car driver, Dan Wheldon has been killed during a series finale celebration and race in Las Vegas. He was part of a fiery 15 car wreck that left debris scattered along the track and three other racers were injured. May we all remember him and his family tonight as he has a wife and two boys, ages 2 and 7 months. Have you ever known a race car driver? I have because my husband got into dirt track racing for awhile and we always knew that a crash was a risk, but you never think that it could be your spouse who doesn't come home after a race. Do you watch Indy Car racing and if so, who is your favorite racer?

I don't particularly watch Indy Car racing, but I know a few drivers (Danica Patrick fan). I saw this news last week and I was shocked. Yesterday, there was another news that a moto GP driver was killed too. I know it's their job to ride and drive fast, but everything still gets into perspective when lives are lost.

This shocked the heck out of me when I read it tonight. I don't watch race car driving, but because my brother-in-law likes it I am familiar with who people are. It's so sad that the 7 month old will have no memory of his daddy, and the 2 year old probably won't either.

It shocked me too. He was a good driver, a good teammate and an excellent husband and dad. I feel sorry for his parents, his wife and those two boys. You are right that they probably won't remember him any at all. I hope that his wife helps to keep his memory alive.
