I don't have problem if the lights are on or not, I can sleep either way. Of course most of us prefer turning off the lights to sleep more comfortably. I can't sleep only if I'm thinking something deeply.

If I am tired enough, I can fall asleep if the lights are on. In general though, I like to sleep in the dark; if I sleep during the day I even use one of those masks for the eyes. And yes, something on my mind will definitely affect my ability to fall asleep.

I thought I couldn't before- but when I tried once I was able to. I think it just depends when I am really tired or not- I don't really care if the light are on. But it is such a waste of electricity.. to keep it on for 8 hours or more.

I can, but I don't want to. I have an aunt who only sleeps with the light on and we always have fights about saving electricity and stuff. I can sleep basically in any situation, even in very bright places, or noisy places. But when I sleep at home I turn off all lights and I don't keep the TV or the radio on like some people do. I really want to save electricity.

I'm pretty much like you. I can sleep almost anywhere, but I like to sleep with the lights off. Plus, I want to save electricity as well.

Yeah, right, save electricity. Parents should train kids to sleep in the dark, no night-lights. I also can fall asleep rather well while sitting down in a vehicle, but I don't do this when I'm alone.

I can usually sleep with the lights on or off. It is easier to fall asleep if the lights are off, or at least not to bright. If I'm really tired it doesn't matter either way. I don't like a lot of noise though. I keep the tv on all the time but I keep it turned down low. Sometimes I think it's low enough but once I lay down and try to sleep I have to turn it down more.

I don't have any problem sleeping with lights on or off. It can be bright sunlight coming through a window and I can still sleep just fine. My problem is noise. I cannot sleep without a constant noise, like a fan, to help mask the occidental noises like birds chirping, crickets, wind, normal noises associated with a house, etc. If a TV is on, forget it! I'll never get to sleep. I always have a fan or air filter running, something with a constant noise that will help lull my brain into sleep.

Oops, "occidental" should be "accidental". Sorry!

I can sleep when nights are on if i am very sleepy. However, I prefer sleeping with nights off because i don't want to waste energy of electricity. Either way I'm okay, but depends.

Hi Jacruz! When I was little, I could not sleep with the lights off. I was a scaredycat then. But as I grow old, I learned to appreciate the peacefulness and calmness of a dark night so I started sleeping with the lights off. And there just came a time when I couldn't sleep with the lights on anymore. And even when I'm already sleeping and the lights got turned on so suddenly, I tend to wake up and my sleep is disturbed so I get annoyed. But there are also times that I fall asleep with the lights on but those are times that I do not want to sleep yet but I am so sleepy that I fall asleep even with the lights on. Like when I am reviewing or reading something. I tend to fall asleep even with a bright light. lol

I can sleep either way, it doesn't really make a difference to me. However I tend to prefer having at least a small light on. Nothing too bright, but some light. In my other room I used to have the street lights by my window, so I didn't need anything else as long as the curtains were open, but now I"m on the other side and there are no street lights. Of course I can sleep with the lights off, and I do most times, but if I can choose I will keep at least a night light on.

I do not mind the lights on and I can sleep without any problems. I do not mind noise as well. In fact, in my case it does not matter what is going on around me. If I am really sleepy then I would sleep and nothing would stop me it seems.

I can sleep either way, of course I prefer to sleep in a pitch black room with no lights, but I have no problem falling sleep with the lights on either.

Anyone can sleep with or without light, it only differs in the condition of a person's body stat, if the body is tired with a long time and it gets a little comfortable stat , you feel sleepy and in seconds anyone can fall asleep, no matter if lights were ON or a/c is overtempered or the couch you are lying on, is your friend's couch. But if your body is already relaxed, then you better have to care 'bout lights, fan, windows, and the nice bed with some soft pillows. Overeating of rice and bread at midday and night can also lead a person to feel sleepy. I always feel it.. Sleep with a thought usually called tension and always leads to nightmares, so i always avoid thinking while sleeping, it's kind of dangerous, both the thinking and nightmares too.... have a good sleep( it enhances one's brain's memory)

I can sleep better in the daylight than night time, and I sleep better with the lights on than off. Yet ironically, when it's time for me to wake up, that's when I want the lights off.

I can sleep either way but I still prefer if the lights are off. I try to watch a movie before I fall asleep just to get my mind off things.

I have the habit of being able to sleep only if it is so dark. I think this is just a manner of habit. There are people who can sleep with lights on. At least with my sleeping habit, I save electricity bills.

People vary. But recently I heard over the BBC that research has shown that even a small amount of light while you are sleeping reduces the value of the sleep. But people have lived to a good old age even when most of their sleep has been without darkness, e.g., Sir Winston Churchill.

Yes I am very scary person. I don't like dark rooms. And if I need in night to the toilet I swich on all lights in my way. I believe ghosts and other mistics persons. So simply I need light in the dark then I feel comfortably and better sleep. My boyfriend love sleep in dark.. so simply love wins and we sleep with the night lights

I can close my eyes but I cant let myself unconcious when the light is off. but I cant sleep nicely when the light is on. so I usually put a blindfold and let the lights on.
