hello Mylotters! What do you prefer to buy when you go shopping - quantity or quality? Will you buy an international brand that would cost you much but the item tend to last for years or a local brand that will cost you less but the item will not last long? Would you prefer to have few clothes, shoes and other stuffs that are branded or have many stuffs but aren't branded at all?

I am more on quality. Several years ago, I was more on quantity but I changed because my clothes won't last that long. I tried to buy some cheap tops and when I tried to wash it, it was damaged. There were lots of small hole in it. That was why I am more on quality now. I have less clothes, but they last long. I have this favorite dress that I bought five years ago, and it still looks new.

Hi clearwater18 :) Yes, Some of my clothes lasts to five years and counting lol. But I agree with you, it still depends on which things you're planning to buy . I still buy some cheaper things, but not clothes. And I can see that they are also good and lasts long.

Wow. 5 years, good for you. Quality is always better. But, it still depends on which things you are planning to buy. There are many cheap clothes that can easily get damaged but there are also some that are of good quality. But they're only few though. Thank you for responding.

For useful things like furniture, cars or electronics, I prefer quality over quantity and pay more because it's worth my money. If I bought something for cheap knowing that it won't last very long, I would have to spend more money buying replacements for it. But for clothing and shoes, brands and non branded clothing make no difference to me. There are some branded clothing which are pretty expensive and bad quality too. So I prefer buying non branded clothing for a cheap price, they still last long and are as good as branded clothing. But branded shoes of course are better than bad quality shoes but I tend to take really good care of all my things. So quality and quantity depends on what kind of product you're buying.

Exactly. If you would buy something cheap and it's an appliance or a gadget, then you just better get ready to buy another one because for sure that will not last long. When it comes to things to wear, you're right. There are some expensive clothes that are of bad quality. You are only paying for the brand and not really the cloth, that's why it's very expensive. So, in choosing things to buy, it really depends on the stuff you're planning to buy and its use.

well, for gadget, I"d better buy the quality. my friends always say "price-do-not-lie". the branded have a better spare-part than non-branded.

I go for quality because if I'm going to spend money on something I want it to last and work for a long, long time.

Yeah. If the thing you buy is of good quality, it will surely last long. But actually there are also some cheap stuffs that are of good quality too. It just depends on the things you buy.

hi there CW! well, it would depend. i would choose quality when i would buy gadgets. since gadgets should last if possible for a lifetime. but for my clothes i would look into the price if i feel it's too expensive for the clothing i would not purchase it since i know i can have the same product at a lower price. i have purchased a lot of items at a lower price and it fits me best you would not think that it's of low quality brands. hmm.. that is what we call wise shopping.

You're very right. It would really depend on what things you'll buy. If it's gadgets or appliances, then choose those that are of good quality even though it's expensive because it will just be worth it. But for clothes, I believe that there are also some cheap clothes that makes the person look good. It's just with the way you wear that dress. You are indeed a wise shopper. Thank you for responding.

It depends on the stuffs I want to buy. For food, if I can buy a nice tasty food with lower branded and more quantity and cheaper price......Why not..?

I guess it depends on how you take care of your things. I admit I don't have many branded items but my not-so-well-known brand items last longer than I expected. And I think that's great. I believe that there are really some unbranded items that also lasts longer. It just really depends on what things you buy. I'll try to check on that. Thank you for responding.

Depends on what I am buying. If it is something large and expensive, definitely choose something that has a reasonable reputation. I would rather spend a little more on say an electrical appliance and get something that will last a lot longer with less maintenance then buying something cheaper that works out more expensive in the long run. On the other hand smaller items well there are unbranded products that are quite good and will do just as well as a brand product. It also depends on what the specific item is to be used for. I may by several really cheap t-shirts for instance to use when doing heavy gardening, painting and diy, because they get damaged quite easily and an expensive shirt would last the same amount of time so why pay extra. On the other hand when going out it is preferable to use a little more, because they last longer, and if in a classical style you can use for example a pair of shoes for years.

What you wrote was very comprehensive and I agree with you. It really depends on what you will do with that thing you are buying. If you will just use it for cleaning or at home, then you can opt to buy cheaper ones. There are also unbranded ones that are of good quality but these are only few. While for parties, you can choose the expensive ones. For appliances, yeah it's definitely way better to buy stuffs that are expensive because you know that it's of good quality. If you just buy cheap ones, you'll just end up buying another appliance which results to even higher expenses so, might as well just buy an expensive one in the first place. Thank you for responding.

I don't buy branded clothes, shoes and other stuffs. My mom buy those things for me. She works and live in UK, so every year when she comes home to visit us,she always bring me and my siblings clothes from UK. But, here at home, I only buy simple clothes as long as I am comfortable. Have a good day

Quality is really going to be the thing that are going to really be the thing. I want something that is going to be rather long lasting. I'd rather have a lack of variety that lasts a long time, as opposed to many things that are not going to last me all that long. I'm getting to the point where I want to stretch out everything that I buy, as long as I really can, to get the most out of every single purchase that I make. So yes, quality is really going to be the driving force behind a lot of things that I buy. Quality is in fact what it is to say the very least. I would rather have things that will last, even if they are few. So I try and look at products of all types, clothes or electronics that I can get a lot out of from a durability standpoint. So quality is king as far as I am concerned.

You're right. If a thing is so cheap and then it will only last a year or less, then might as well buy something that is durable or of high quality. Even though it is expensive, at least what you bought is worth it. Thank you for responding.

Quality! Its really nice to have something that you bought (even if its a bit costly) that will last for a long time. I have tried buying low quality cheap things and they get easily broken.

Even if a thing is expensive, it will still be worth it because it will not get broken easily. Usually those stuffs that are cheap are really of low quality and so, they easily get destroyed. Thank you for responding.

I prefer to buy a intermediary product. Not buy Adidas or Nike which are very expensive, I buy thing that have a good quality and the price is for me, for my wallet.
