Christmas shopping

I have started Christmas shopping early this year. This is the earliest in the year that I have ever shopped for Christmas. Due to the economy and being broke, I am a little stressed out. I already created a wishlist on amazon for gift ideas. I am happy with my gift ideas, but I am not sure if I will be able to afford all of them. I have been trying to use any money I make online to buy gifts with. It is helping and I am thankful for the money I make online, or else I wouldn't know how I would be able to buy any gifts at all. Although I don't typically earn a lot of money so I have been trying to make some more and spend more time each day doing certain activities to make more money, so I can buy more gifts. A few things that I have been doing while Christmas shopping that has helped me save money are: 1. Using coupons 2. Watching every dollar I spend 3. Start shopping earlier to give me more time 4. Using gift cards to shop for gifts Anyone else have any good ideas to save money this year on gifts for Christmas?

Good to read that this early days you started shopping for Christmas. Me, I am a type of person who used to shop on rush. No matter how i wanted to buy gifts early these days, Still i can't! i do not have a budget yet. No cash out even on online jobs yet. I am only relying on my bonus which will be given Mid in November. Hope i could learn to save and do a Christmas shopping as early as i wanted. Good luck and have fun shopping :) Nothing can compare the great feeling of giving gifts on Christmas!

Besides shopping all year (which I didn't do this year!), making things and watching for sales, I save up gift cards to Amazon from various programs and use that for Christmas. If you know anyone who likes to collect things, you can sometimes find collectibles and/or antiques in thrift stores. Garage sale season is past here this year, but I've found some unique gifts from them, as well as some new things (still with tags on them) and saved them for Christmas.

OK, thank you for your tips. I plan on taking Amazon gift cards to buy gifts this year but I will I would have started sooner. It will probably take me a while to save up enough points to redeem them. Plus I feel like I have to spend more time on the site to save up points, so next year I am going to start earlier. I am going to try and start slowly buying gifts in the beginning of next year. Hopefully I can.

I've started getting some Christmas gifts too. Just for my kids so far. I belong to a fleamarket group for our area and there was a lady selling a bunch of wii games for a good deal. We decided we were going to just get them games for the wii and xbox instead of buying toys that no one plays with. I belong to a site that gives you points for searching on the internet and other things. You can use the points for amazon gifts cards as well as tons of other things, but you talking about amazon made me think of that. If you are interested let me know.

Are you talking about the website called swagbucks? If so, I am already on it. Thanks for your response and ideas. I think your kids will love the wii and xbox games.

I started Christmas shopping about a week ago, and now I think that I don't have all that much left to buy. I need to buy a couple more things for my partner and my parents, but other than that I honestly think that I have got the majority of it done. I didn't want to spend too much this year, but I think that I am probably going to spend pretty much the same amount that I always do. However I do want to show everybody just how much I think of them, and this means that I have to spend a little bit more money than I planned to.

I usually start shopping since the beginning of the year, especially during sales period, members' day and so forth.. Recently, I bought a hugh pile of books to be given away as gift on Christmas for my friends who love to read. It's always a good to have early preparation. I agree with you, coupons do lots of help, therefore I started collecting my gift from the beginning to end as then I can have better planning. It's really bad to do last minute shopping sometimes. For you, Early Merry Christmas!

I agree with you that it is bad to do last minute shopping. It can costs your more money. I guess it isn't always bad. I also don't like the feeling of last minute shopping. I feel rushed and panicked.

I actually thought of shopping all year around this morning. I think after this Christmas I will start shopping for next year. I know it is a full year, but it sure would help. I could probably get a lot more gifts and save money. It would be a good idea to buy gifts when they are on sale, or when you have coupons. Since not everything goes on sale or coupons are available around Christmas, I could buy them when they are. I think that is a great idea, and I am actually excited to do it next year. I will probably be happier and more satisfied with the gifts that I give to my family. Thanks.

I think that is a good idea. I will have to think about what to make. The gifts that people make for someone are also more sentimental. Great idea.
