...in the audience at the Los Angeles Laugh Factory, and walked off stage after an inappropriate "racial tirade", saying something like ...50 years ago, you'd be hung upside down from a tree, with a fork in your a**...that's what happens when you interrupt a white man... It's said "freedom of speech has its limits and Micheal Richards found them"...somebody on tv said that... what do you think?

Ok, first Michael Richards has admitted that he has an issue that he was unaware of and that he is seeking professional help after what he did. He's apologized NUMEROUS times yet some people are still thinking he's this horrible person. He's tried contacting the hecklers on numerous occassions to apologize personally, however they haven't allowed him to. Only recently did they agree to allow him to speak them. Now the heckler's are looking to sue Michael Richards. Sorry, but if you're trying to point out that racism is still wrong no matter what, a frivilous lawsuit to suck money out of someone who's got it isn't a good way to start that point. I'm not defending what he did, what he did was wrong. However he knows that, he's admitted it, and I think he's handled the entire situation really well. No one on this board is not guilty of at least thinking racist comments so none of us have the right to judge him for what he did.

He said that he never thought he was racist until this happened. He also said it made him realize he had some anger issues that needed to be dealt with as well. It's simple. Most people don't realize they have a problem with race until something gets shoved into their face then they realize "hey, maybe I'm not what I thought i was". It happens all the time.

I think those he offended have the right to judge him for what he did. And I disagree that not one on this board is not guilty of at least thinking racist comments...it is too sweeping a generalization for me to accept that statement as anything but your opinion. His rant was beyond politically incorrect, it was very scary and threatening to anyone who has ever had their lives touched by lynching...

I'm sure he knew before this incident he has anger issues, i think he was already in anger management, and should be if he isn't yet.

I just listened to the tape of the incident, it was not part of a comedy act, it was horrid.

Micheal Richards apologized for his "rage" because he is afraid of more rage backlash.

Wow I had not heard about this. Didn't he play Kramer on Seinfeld, or is it a different guy?

Yes, he was Kramer on Seinfeld, it happened in LA at the Laugh Factory on last Friday.

The owner of the Laugh Factory in LA invited Richards and the audience back to the club, just so Richards can apologize. No word from Richards so far. He did go on the radio with Jesse Jackson, and it seems that there's a big boycott of Seinfeld going on due to Richards' racist comments at the Laugh Factory.

I think what he said was awful. I have never thought such things in my life and he was saying them in public! He should have known better. He will pay for those remarks for the rest of his life.

Yes, the only funny thing about it is now there's an "apology tour" but seriously, he should be shunned for his racism.
