Hello fellows, I've not been well for past few days. I need a lot of rest n sleep. This is the right time to go sleep here. And I'd started nodding, had just folded the page of the book that I'm reading. And keeping the book aside, I just had wrapped myself in my blanket, when I heard a noise like tyre exploding or earthquake or bomb or whatever can give a shock to a weak heart... Mine was about to fail, when my memory served me and I remembered that its my neighbor. This man, for some reasons, had an idea that whenever he speaks over his cell phone, his voice wouldn't reach the other party; so he shouts. Imagine him asking, ''How're you???'' at the top of his hoarse voice... Gee, I'm tortured beyond imagination and have no power to tolerate anymore... There's no use telling him about it. He is that thick headed fellow who can never understand logic... So I've put my headphone on and listening to music n love-guru and what not!!! Sleep is gone...sigh....

Try to talk to him about that. Even though he's hard headed, maybe he'll change. If he still won't then maybe you should just do those stuffs you've mentioned like putting on earphones. Some people are really like that. They don't care at all as to how noisy they are.

Oh that is irritating, Mr. Pearl! We have a guy that comes into the store that I work in like that. He is so so loud and obnoxious. And he talks about crazy, ridiculous stuff. If it's quiet in the store and he walks in, sometimes I nearly jump out of my skin. His neighbors have complained to him and you are right...it probably wouldn't do much good. It didn't with this guy anyway. Get some ear plugs you know the kind that they use for construction and whatnot.

That is sad indeed! Hereafter keep some cotton ready and plug your ears. Selfhelp is the best help and instead of asking the other person to tone doen his voice you prevent yourself from hearing this.

Hi Kalav, yes, that cotton idea is so good.. I'll take it up immediately. I don't have to go through this everyday, but sometimes only... Yes I agree, self help is the best... Thanks a lot for sharing Mam'...

If they're really that noisy, you can call the police and report them. LOL You have to stand your ground and protect your rights. If you don't, they'll just step on you and do it over and over again.

Well.. I really wish I could call cops.. But it would next to futility.. . Cops here don't interfere unless people brek each others' bones and wring the necks... I am just glad that I don't have to go through it everyday... :) Thanks for your suggestion...

Your neighbour is inconsiderate, to be talking at the top of his voice when he's at home? It's either he's slightly deaf or it's his habit to talk that loud. U can call the police, complain against him but it's not going to help. Next solution u can consider is to insulate your wall. THat will sound proof your house and nobody can hear u and vice versa. When neighbours are inconsiderate, there's nothing we can do about it. COnfront them? If they change it's good. IF they don't, it will make things worst.

Hi Sanitary... Thank you for sharing.. Each of your statement is as true as gospel. He is not deaf, he has that habit of shouting whenever conversing over the phone. Sound proofing my house will take a lot of cash... so I can't imagine that.. yes, there is nothing to be done here... I need to endure when I have to!!! :(

mr_pearl ..how frustrationg that must be for you. I always say if you can get enough sleep you cna handle anything..but without it life is just harder. The ear phones sound like a slight improvement bit aren't they uncomfortable to sleep with? Maybe you need background music... All the best...I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Stary and Frazil... Thank you guys... It was awful, trust me. I didn't know what to do. That voice which was at its peak, was highly annoying and many times, I controlled myself from shouting at that person. I used ear phones. Yes, they are not comfortable to sleep with, but it was something to let me rest. At midnight, I remember, I took them off and switched on the loudspeake, though. So it was relief anyhow... Thank you again!

Sorry you have noisy neighbors. I really can't complain about my neighbors at all. The people across the street keep to themselves. The house on one side of us has been empty for over 4 years. The people that lived there were nice but a little noisy. They had 4 beagle dogs that they kept outside so sometimes they howled a lot. The neighbor on our other side is a couple in their late 70's that are very sweet and have become another set of grandparents for our kids.

I hate it when our neighbours aren't careful when they are making a lot of noise at the times when I am trying to relax or sleep. we've had a neighbour nightmare in the past couple of months, as they were completely changing their house so there was sometimes noise to the extent that we couldn't hear the TV. Obviously it had to be done, however when they started working one Sunday morning at 6.30am I had to go around and have a word with them, as this is just completely out of order to be so inconsiderate.

Yes, there are some inconsiderate mugs, who don't understand the value of being in a society. Having a word with such people doesn't really help, it didn't at least in my case. I have spoken with this fellow about the noise once or twice and found that he had all sorts of excuses to offer.. So in the end badly frustrated, I simply gave up... :(

Just opposite to my house there is a lady who lets out her first floor. Tenants come and go and there was one tenant who destroyed my peace. I have created an environment that attracts birds and that is what I always hear throughout the day. But this lady spoiled it all for me, sitting in the balcony and screaming at the top of her voice on her cell phone day in and day out. I had no other go but to do Reiki to have her removed from there. It worked and she is not there any more. I pity you!

I understand you completely! I have a young couple and a 2 year old upstairs neighbors who for some reason sleep all day and decided that after 1am it is time to pound, play loud music and stomp while walking on the floor above us. No matter how many times we have complained to them and the landlord it is to no avail. This has been happening now for almost 2 years. They are disrespectful and not sure why the child is awake at 3am. Sometimes I want to take the broom stick and pound on the ceiling so they get the message. I am not a trouble maker and have had to live with all the noise. I know exactly what you mean about being made to stay awake because the noise is not something I can sleep through.

Gee, yours is worse than mine, miss.. I feel sorry for you. Why do they start their day at midnight, anyhow? There is no use complaining to such people, you know. What you can do is, have a conference with them. Explain them that their nocturnal activities are not only bothering you but also in long term, they might be harmful to their baby... Takin the sterner stand won't help here, just show them how bad it is and they'll try to improve. Take care.. Thanks for sharing...

We recently had to deal with some noisy neighbors as well. They would blow a loud horn at three in the morning. They'd slam doors, scream at each other, party til late hours at night. Finally, the whole neighborhood got frustrated and one man called the cops. They ended up getting evicted. Is there any way you could sign a petition to get them out? What if you went to talk to the man face to face? I'd bring someone with you just in case he's a volatile person...You never know, he could take it the wrong way. Maybe if you let him know it's bothering you, he'll stop. Just approach him in a civil manner. He may not even know he's doing it. Maybe he is hard of hearing.

Hi... Thank you for sharing your experience... The solutions you provided wouldn't work because the cops here wouldn't hear of it. I'll be turned down. They (the cops) are very irresponsible in my country. I've already spoken with him about this. Twice! First time, I told him that he didn't need to shout over phone, as with modern technology n what not, things've got smoother. He agreed too! But to no avail.. Next time he got a call, he did it the same old way. Second when I went to tell him, I was quite furious. But again I met with dumb reaction. He said he didn't shout anymore.. I tried to explain. Soon it dawned upon me that it was pointless to explain things to that chuckle head. So these I try to drown that noise with music etc.

Hi guys... Thanks!!! Yes, there are some people who don't care if they're being bothersome or not. They just go on. It's been the same with this man, since he's come to live here. He seem to think it is right... Kind of over confident....

Just few hours ago, I also experienced the same sentiments. We had a drunkard neighbor and unfortunately he is the husband of my aunt, my father's sister. Whenever, he drinks, he drinks too much that afterwards he could not barely able to go home safely. And the worst thing, sometimes he could also hurt his children, shouting them and spanking them. And just a wile ago, I woke up because of the very noisy sound I heard, and it was him, throwing stones and woods at the door of their house. So, disturbing and I pity to my cousins becaue they have an irresponsible father like that.

I, too, feel sorry for those unfortunate kids.. Having a drunkard father isn't a joke. Life becomes hard and harder... Because the kids aren't able to grasp the situation clearly and the drunkenness of their father leaves a lot of bad impression on their minds... Its bad!!! I will pray for those kids... I am sorry for you too, to have to go through such an ordeal as this... Thank you for sharing...
