A lot of things happen in the world, what can I do? what can we do to make this a better place?
I think one thing to change the world that we can do is respect each other.
Respect means treat the others in the way you want to be treated.
This song is beautiful and made me think about what is my part, what can I do.

While we want to show love to all and help where we can, this world can never become the ideal place. Why? Because of who rules this world!

I understand what you are trying to say. We can do our part to make the world a better place. But the world itself will never become better.

We have to start small. And like you said start with respect. I think that and kindness are two very important things. Along with being able to always look at things from all views. Not everyone lives the life we live. If we all helped someone less fortunate, just one simple thing a day or every other day even, the world would start to be a better place.

do onto others as you would have done onto you. that is the golden rule. everything else is just a subcategory. it's obvious that if you don't want your stuff stolen, don't steal. if you don't want anyone to sleep with your partner, don't sleep with anyone else's. if you want love, give love. the law of karma is exact. what ever you put out, you will recieve sevenfold.

Hi Rosa26,
That was a beautiful and meaningful song indeed. The world is more like a mirror. It shows our reflection. If we are happy than the image will look happy as well.If we are full of anger and hatred than that's what we are going to get in return.
In short, do good and be good. Let's let love take control and never defy the law of nature. A peaceful world will follow.

First, this is my favorite of my icons songs - and I love this song for many reasons. Thanks for the lyrics and making me hum that song as I read through
Okay, now for the response to the great discussion - I always believe that the world will be a much better place when we all did what we are supposed to do = with 100% honesty and commitment to that task. We all are so blessed by the Lord that Bad and Ugly things dont come to us Naturally and if we all mainatined that "Natural thoughts and feelings", I am sure the world would be a better place.
We are all born with more of positive qualities than the negatives but as we go along, we get into the vices and this is where all porblems start.

Oh, this seems like a very well known wish from everyone (well, almost everyone). World Peace. I think that starting the change in ourselves will be a great idea. Also, understanding other people can help us help each other. Then, respect will follow. And all the other stuff.

Yes Ashbelle if we stop being selfish and beging to think about the other pain, we will realize that our situation is nothing compare with the situation of the others, and we will open our eyes to the compassion and will care, help, and undrstand more the others.And so we will make this world a better place,for you and for me and the entire human race.

I think that treating everyone with respect and how we would want to be treated is going to be something that it is going to go a long way into making the world a better place. There are a fair amount of negative examples in the world. Negativity tends to sadly run rampant and it has driven the world into the condition it is. There are a lack of positive examples in the world, as everyone does seem to be at each others throats a lot of the time.
So yes, perhaps we should treat everyone with respect. Even if we might not get the same. If we inspire one person out of a hundred, then the world is just one person better, as opposed to no person better. A little more positivity is really going to lead to the world being slightly more great. Therefore, we are going to have to just do what we have, treat people well, do nice things, and hopefully more will be inspired to do the same.

Yes preaching with the example, if we want to make a better place of the world and we work on that we would be giving example of how we should treat each other if I have two blankets and I only use one knowing that my neighbor is suffering cold just share and make the difference.

I think we need to remember something that seems to have been long forgotten by the human race and that is their is enough for everyone and no one man is any more deserving then the next, we were all made in the same image and no matter how far we may stray from our intended path we are all gods children all the same. Do to each other as you would want done unto you, treat others with respect, and make your decisions with your moral guide and not your wallet because all the riches in the world will do nothing to save your soul in the end.
